East Kerry will be lot weaker in 2027 without the services of the Fossa lads and it's hard to see who will be capable of stopping them from winning the Intermediate All Ireland now.

On another note some commentators needs to settle themselves whenever two pointers are scored. Many are kicked with the shooter given loads of time and room to score.

My mind must be going, I thought Fossa were beat in a Munster Intermediate semi final a few years ago. Tyrone nearly always strong at intermediate level

Yeah theres average club players hitting them now regularly, it's not that spectacular when given time and space  (obviously some are deadly.)

Nah, that's their 4th year in Intermediate having won the Junior in 22 (and then the All Ireland in January 23).  They got beat in 2 Intermediate finals and 1 semi-final (AET) in their 3 previous attempts at the Kerry Intermediate

Nah, that's their 4th year in Intermediate having won the Junior in 22 (and then the All Ireland in January 23).  They got beat in 2 Intermediate finals and 1 semi-final (AET) in their 3 previous attempts at the Kerry Intermediate

Yeah must be getting mixed up in their county and provincial runs, remember thinking it'd be interesting to see how the Cullyhanna lads would get on against Fossa at the time.

East Kerry will be well weakened, I take it the Fossa lads can still play for East Kerry this year but not next year?

Rathmore absolutely demolished East Kerry in the QF last year so they were on the slide already. Without the Cliffords it's hard to see how they can have any impact on the county championship next year. Four of the ten clubs in this year's edition are from East Kerry.

"No GAA in July and August"?

On Friday, Munster GAA revealed there was a 4% increase in adult championship activity across July and August. A total of 1,538 games were played between Gaelic football and hurling, up 59 from 2025. Of that number, 970 were hurling and 627 were football.

The totals per county were Cork 419, Tipperary 369, Limerick 302, Waterford 207, Clare 171 and Kerry 129. It's the third year the province have tracked the games.

"The number of games sustained that are relatively constant and very impressive," said Leddy. "If we didn't have the split season, I'm not sure we could play the volume of club games intertwined with the inter-county season. I'm not sure it would be practical or possible."
