I don't understand that rule. He either handled the ball or he didn't. What happened subsequently is irrelevant to that.

Good win in the end but United look appalling at the back. Shaw got absolutely burnt for the first goal and they should have had a second at the back post before the equaliser.

Another factor is that the very best players – the elites for whom Premier League clubs would be ready to pay Morgan Rogers-type transfer fees – don't want to come. This class of player is already good enough to play for one of the small handful of non-Premier League clubs that can pay Premier League wages, and can afford to take a more holistic view of what's on offer in the English top flight.

If Barcola does go to Liverpool it will be the only established star from a top club to move to England in this window. 14 of the most expensive 20 signings this window involve English clubs but mostly within England. He argues that mega stars aren't interested in England and clubs tend not to risk money on players who haven't proven themselves in the EPL.

Started me thinking. For all it's money very few genuine stars move to England at their peak.

I can really only think of a handful of players who did.

Not disputing the hand ball

I've seen ref's blow straight away for that so that it doesn't lead to something else (like a goal)

If a defending player puts his hands on his chest during a free kick to brace for a shot, while standing in the square, ball hits hands/arms should that be seen as a handball?

Handball if arms or hands are outside of his torso, I get that, but in Maguire's case his hands were in the torso area, instinctively you'll put your hands up to protect yourself, had the ref blown for a free no one would have battered an eyelid, but because it lead to a goal and VAR got involved and went all legal instead of common sense we are left with hopefully a common sense approach and get rid of that stupid rule

Was Torres that big of a star pre Liverpool?

Pogba and Di Maria at that time were massive even though both turned out shite.

Torres was, absolutely. Moved to Liverpool as he claimed to he a fan, but had options.

Pogba started his career at Man United so an asterisk there, but OK, his move back was as a top player.

Di Maria is a maybe, he was run out of Madrid as opposed to picking Manchester over Soain.
