Really don't get the noise around the venue, Louth played their NFL games in Inniskeen, their call so we role with it.  It's a field with posts at either end, if you're good enough the venue will hardly matter.

We are in the sharp end of the biggest sports tournament in the country. I understand the temporary nature of the venue, but there needs to be a plan B for one of your biggest games ever. A club ground in a different county that can't hold a quarter of your own fans is so small time it hurts.

Yes and no.

I got annoyed by Kildare's antics a few years ago.

But these days every time I see a half full county ground, or a quarter full Croke, I think to myself that full houses create a different and better buzz, no matter how small those houses are.

Some people miss out. That's okay. It honestly not end of the world.

If I was a Louth clubman who supported them through thin and thinner, I don't think I would be quite as blaze about missing a game of this nature. Move it to Newry, Cavan or even Clones.

I wonder if the Louth county board were on a cut of the gate would they be playing in a random club venue in the arse of Monaghan

Louth supporters will take some comfort in your and the Armagh folk having their feelings front and centre. If you were a Louth supporter during those times then you won't be missing out if you know how supporting a lesser supported county works.

Rossfan

GAA central get all the gate receipts of the AI games.
Ground rental of 10%?, possibly small grant to the 2 CBs, Gardai and other on the day expenses.
Cowld tay for the voluntary stewards..,gate scanners etc
Play the game and play it fairly
Play the game like Dermot Earley.

What's the parking situation at Inniskeen ... on road, in fields, designated car parks?  First time attending a game at this venue.

davitt park far from fit for a county ground
Wash your mouth out with a bar of soap...

No, you're correct. Only for a certain DUP minister about 6-7 years ago we would have, stopped the grant at the final hurdle (the signing cheque stage)

LOL. Was actually there on Thursday for CnaG awards night. Some amount of work been done for the facilities. Kept my wallet in my pocket tho..........

Was talking to a Louth county player the other day and asked him what he thought about the venue fiasco. Said he was happy enough.

See a request from Armagh to train on the Inniskeen pitch has been refused. Any word on who refused permission?
Keep your pecker hard and your powder dry and the world will turn.

When was the last time Armagh let a team they were playing at at home train on the Athletic Grounds pitch days before the game?

McGeaney working the playbook of cute hoorism.

Is that a thing in Gaelic Games?

Aaron Boone

It's not a standard request by counties, but with the remoteness of Inniskeen, McGeeney thought he was within rights to get the training session.

The remoteness of Inniskeen?  It's beside Armagh ffs.

If it was in Páirc Esler, would he ask to get training there? Not a chance.

A lot of Armagh fans will get there quicker than to the athletic grounds.

It's a silly game both managers are playing with the request and the rejection .

Nice of BigGreenField to put the score prediction in the thread title
