Probably more so Brazil just dont have the players currently to even have a proper tilt at it.

England have the players, just can never seem to get it done when it really matters.

When you look at the team movement with Spain and you see how they step in and out and move as a unit to create space it is brilliant.

You NEVER see England doing that. This time out Bellingham was Roy of the Rovers and everyone waited for him to save the day, while the others just run down blind alleys and haven't football IQ to even get the F out of the way half the time.

At club level the English teams rely on imported football brains to run the show. Rodri taking over from De Bruyne at City and so on.

Look at Liverpool. Gerrard running around the pitch and never holding position. He needed Alonso there to actually add some control. One is regarded as a Premier League all-timer and the other won everything there is to win...

Astounded me the number of times Stevie G was lauded for a crossfield diag that left a full back or winger stood basically on the corner flag with no room to maneuver and no-one in the box to receive a cross if they could have dug one out in 0.3 second flat, it looked the part but rarely amounted to much, needless to say Stevie didn't adapt well to the higher IQ requirement when the legs went

In fairness Lampard was a far more intelligent player, but Stevie G simply could not be played centre mid at international level.

England have gone the other way a bit now in that they think boring side-passing is what they need. Anderson was fairly shown up and Rice is another all-action hero who doesn't just take a beat to slow the game when needed.

Not to have it all England, Brazil really are struggling for players and I don't see much coming through either.

Yeah barring injury Spain are going to be hard stopped. Rodri only 30 should have another Euros and World Cup in him yet and likes of Yamal will only get better

I hear this alot but is it true? I thought them a shocking outfit to make it to the SF. Riding their luck against DR Congo, Norway and Mexico? Maybe I dont know enough about soccer but those players look not great! Bellingham and exception and maybe 1 or 2 others

Had Brazil scored their peno against Norway I think Engerland would have been out in the QFs
