I don't know if they're up there as an all time top team, some brilliant players and obviously Clifford as good as theres ever been but they really haven't overly impressed this year and to be brutally honest there isn't a whole pile of competition out there at the minute- Galway seem to have gone backwards, Dublin obviously have a kick in them but not a patch on their great side, traditional big teams like Cork and Meath are maybe improving but not at the top level yet, in Ulster who knows whats gone wrong with Donegal, looked fantastic vs Kerry twice this year and lost to teams you'd expect them to beat, Tyrone gave Kerry their fill of it but are probably one for the future, Armagh obviously don't have that huge pedigree and with the turnover of players from 2024 will do well to get close to Kerry.

That leaves Mayo- no one looked twice at them early in the year but favourable draw and some magic forwards has them in a final. Love to see them do it but just not sure how they can.

Jacko was v worried against Dublin, the tension must be huge knowing the team isnt firing and at full strength. Jim Gavin made this comment

"They're doing a jig on the pitch... If that was McGeeney there would have been action taken"

I will not be that surprised if Mayo win, Tyrone got a run on Kerry in 1st half and failed to fully capitalise.

Kerry could easily have been knocked out by a Dublin side on its last legs plus the "luck".

Croker & the rules suits these lads, Karma could come calling for the Kingdom.

All the best to Mayo today. Kerry are obviously a good team but as per usual in Ireland people lose the run of themselves over them. If Mayo had lost the League final by 13 points, lost a Championship match by 10 points earlier in the summer by 10, and subsequently enjoyed large slices of fortune to come through the quarters and semis, would they be seen as huge favourites? Of course not. Kerry are good, but they're aren't anywhere near unbeatable.

And as ever when Mayo are involved in a big match, I'll be thinking of our old friend Farrandeelin. Hopefully this is finally the day.

Mayowestros did lose a home Championship game by 10 points and did get some handy draws and did get lucky with dodgy refereeing decisions v Meath.

That's a massive call if true- O'Sullivan obviously good enough to start but played no ball all year.

I can't shake the feeling of Mayo are going to turn up here. It might not be enough and they could lose anyway but I think they'll give a good account of themselves.

For anyone wondering if this final is a draw today,  hasn't been a drawn Senior football final since 2019 Kerry v Dublin

If the two teams are level after 70 minutes today then there will be extra time,  if level after extra time a replay will be played on August 8th.

If the replay ends in a draw, then there will be another 20 minutes of extra time.
Should the two teams be unable to be separated after that, then the All-Ireland final will go to a penalty shoot-out for the first time in history.  Personally I hope All-Ireland final is never won or lost in that manner

The two Clifford lads from 26 years ago. How Mayo mark them today will go along way to deciding the outcome of this game.
