Probably his all Ireland club title celebrations!

Winning that cup has actually done them no favours winning it again would be pointless

Would help them get into Sam next year.... Still a fair chance they don't qualify via league position and getting to an Ulster final would need a very favourable draw

Is the ref going to finally blow his whistle?... No, he's going to blow his nose

Shamrock Shore

Ok - at least we're at home............

The lack of promotion in this tournament leads to the lack of interest in it. RTE and the GAA have given nothing to the TC. It wont be long until its lory Meagher status.
Unless your in it very little appetite.

RTE are only interested in viewing figures so they can sell advertising. The GAA should not be dealing with them in my opinion bar the legally protected/mandated games like semi finals and finals each year. And the GAA should give those to TG4 who cover gaelic games so well all year round.

This is just how sport works.

In terms of public interest, second tier competitions are insignificant compared to top tier competitions.

Promotion levels and interest levels go hand in hand.

They make no effort to promote it (poor at promoting in general!).
€10 tickets, free for kids, complimentary tickets to schools etc
Play the game and play it fairly
Play the game like Dermot Earley.

You're right. And I guess none of this would hurt.

But I would still think that promotion only makes a difference when the competition/event is capable of grabbing public interest - and not other way around.

Or to put it another way - Tailteann needs to find ways to generate public interest stories, and not expect someone to make them up.
