Obviously Croker (or any big stadium) not ideal for actually watching the fight given how far most seats are from the ring, but my god what a venue and what an atmosphere.

I think you're out of touch with League of Ireland soccer anyway. It had improved significantly in recent years - younger players cannot move to English clubs until they are 18. This has helped the LOI and attendances at LOI matches show an upward trend.

The LOI's real problem is that most clubs were traditionally based in Dublin and a few in Cork, Waterford and Limerick. The clubs don't have very large fanbases.
