There is a bit of that but cost is a major factor(probably the major factor). The same was an issue in the diamond league in London too. Events in mainland Europe are considerably cheaper than the ones they are putting on in Britain. (Or so I am reading anyway...)

Hunter-Bell might beat the lot of them in the 800. It might be a bit soon for Bol but I think she will be a major player in the 800 next few years.

Just realised she opted for the 1500m rather than the 800m.

Cost of tickets is a bit crazy, speaking to a few ones over already and they have been happy enough, bought lower bands and moved into empty seats.

yeah noticed that in the heat results. I thought O'Sullivan was in there but she must be in the 1500 too.

I read there Bol has never ran over 2 minutes in the 800. For context only 3 Irish women, as of last week, have ran sub 2

A very messy race. Expected a bigger kick from Healy but lack of 5k experience definitely a factor.

Why did Healy leave it so late

I think Healy definitely left a medal behind there, probably due to inexperience.  Sonia O'Sullivan made a good point afterwards that these days everyone is quick over the last 200m, so you have to think about some sort of move before then.  The Italian who won bronze was ranked 19th on times.

Championship record for English. He looked comfortable enough too. Really hope he can get gold.

Werro fell in the ladies 800 metres. There was no visible contact so she could be out with no grounds for an appeal.

That had the makings of a great final too. I watched it back a couple of times and couldn't see any contact so I doubt she could appeal.

I wonder is there an outside chance of Bol doing something here. She's looking very comfortable - well her stride is anyway - but hard to know how she feels within herself. I would love to see that because the hype for Hodgkinson annoys me a bit...

Loved the interview with the 200 guy Marcus Lawler. He didn't know he'd made the next round and then when he was told he said he didn't expect it. Just looked like a boy out for a wee casual run

Werro rightfully reinstated, she fell due to the accidental contact on her right leg from the hand of Bourgoin. She was badly winded so not sure in what shape she will be for the final tomorrow.
