Dorgu, Mazouri, young Amass and Dalot can all play there but you wouldn't like to be relying on any of them if and when Shaw gets injured/needs rested.

7/8m was the fee I saw being touted, he had always been highly rated coming through but this is the ruthless side of things at a professional club. I'd like to see him being kept around at least to Christmas he is bound to get a chance with the extra games they will have.

Definitely more business needing done before the window closes but whether they get it done or not is another thing.

Certainly rather see him get a chance than suffer Dalot there again, Dorgu an option but probably looks better further forward. Hopefully it means a signing coming in but wishful thinking.

About to sign Baleba according to reports. That's a very solid looking midfield now and probably hard to pick the 2 starters who'll play behind Bruno. Nice problem to have. An experienced back up striker and a left back and thats a brilliant window on paper.

Don't know a whole pile about him but seems fairly highly rated and by all accounts only went off the boil after his move was blocked last year. A worrying enough trait but a talented boy who seems to have the attributes needed, good that he is coming in to a midfield with 3 other good players competing with him for a place which can only help rather than being thrown in at the deep end.

Young enough as well and I'd trust Carrick to know what qualities are needed in a midfielder

A deserved beating. Dreadful performance. The summer signings were shocking in midfield. Carrick and his management team havent prepared the team for the start of the season. Well off  fitness and intensity wise. Dont recall a real goal chance.
Hull bossed them. Bruno no existent.   
Carrick in trouble already.

Credit to Hull worked their socks off and fully deserved their win.  The fact a club like them who finished 6th in the championship last season was able to make themselves hard to score against and beat was some comparison to that United team.  Once again United hopeless in defending set pieces.


Ipswich will be licking their lips before facing that United team next

Honeymoon for Carrick is well and truly over now.

The workrate was non existent. There's no excuse for that in any game, let alone the first of a new season. They did that quite a bit last season, especially against the so called lesser teams.
