I feel bad for Maguire. I don't give a f**k how much money or other perks he has that comes with being a top level professional footballer. He's a human being like everyone else who works in a high pressure environment and is being made the public scapegoat for the utter incompetence of those running Manchester United. It was utterly predictable that some halfwits would take things too far into the realm of criminal threats.

Probably the same Neanderthals who were singing Hillsborough songs in the away section Tuesday night.
When you think you're fucked you're only about 40% fucked.

The Maguire thing has been exaggerated by Social media! The Microscope is on him. Phil Jones had the same treatment.

Players make mistakes every week! You can highlight any player and make a laughing stock of them.

He holds his own at international level, I suppose their system suits him, they are better than most other nations and there is a feel good factor with the England National team at the moment.

Exactly what I was thinking.  Football is important in peoples' lives but it's only football.  Anyone above 18 chanting that shite or threatening to kill a player, needs their heads examining.
That's just, like your opinion man.

He doesn't deserve a bomb threat but he, Rashford, Pogba and a good few others deserve booed off the field every single week, people pay an absolute fortune to follow football teams between tickets, merchandise and sky/bt packages. Maguire and the rest earn more in a week than most people do in years.

The least fans deserve is them to look like they give a shite rather than getting humiliated and posting some bullshit on instagram through their pr team post match.

And Phil Jones has spoken publicly about the toll all the abuse and ridicule has taken on him and his family.

When it comes down to it, they're people with feelings, just like the rest of us.

You could add Rashford to the queue as well - and it seems to get to him more than most.

I don't think it's as simple as saying they're lazy and not putting in the effort.  They look shot of confidence and appear rudderless.   Will be interesting to see whether a new manager with a clear style of play will get through to some of them and be able to get more out of them.

I think criticism is fine. Papers have been rating players performances for years. Journos make a living out of praising and gutting players and managers performances. This is par for the course. Phoning in a bomb threat targeting their house or family or whatever is taking it way too far.

He's an absolute cretin.

The sooner transfer fees are done away with - so clubs can terminate contracts like these without a chairman's fear of recouping the initial outlay - the better.

He'll probaly go back to Juve on another free transfer.  Madness that he wasn't sold 2 years ago when he wanted out

Id say more likely is PSG or somewhere that can afford his colossal wages. He doesn't look like a player that has any real desire to win trophies though so he could end up in MLS.

The Maguire bomb scare just shows how batshit crazy things have got at United. His is not a case of not trying unlike Pogba, it is simply a case of a player being asked to do things and fulfill duties that he is simply not capable of doing. Should never have been signed for that sort of money to begin with, should never have been subsequently appointed captain and then should not have been asked to defend playing a high line where all of his deficiencies are fully exposed. He is protected at England who play a low block where he can see everything in front of him. He is actually a very good defender in that system but none of the top club sides have played that way since Mourinho left England.

Ten Haag has a huge task on his hands and it will be a bigger problem trying to get players out the door when you look at the wages some of them are on.

Shocking defence for arsenals goal, and no Maguire to blame today.
