Captain Obvious

If they aren't careful its a type of group that United could find themselves in the Europa league again.

Could have been worse, but still a tough group. Shaktar Donesk are a good side and have regularly been playing CL football over the past few seasons. They have 4 or 5 quality Brazilian players, like Fred,, Bernard, Wellington Nem. Real Sociedad were impressive in the way they hammered Lyon to qualify  for the group stages. Carlos Vela has looked a different player since his Arsenal days where he never really made an impact.  Leverkusen are no mugs either. Bundesliga is improving year by year.
It will be a tough task for Moyes.

Good enough draw for Utd when you look at groups B, D & H.

Group B? Are you serious?

Yes. They will both waltz out of the group.

It wasn't possible for United to get drawn with Real.

If United were in this group it would of been: United, Juventus, Galatasaray & Copenhagen and as seanie has alluded to they should of been cantering through it.

When were Real Madrid never first seeds? It wouldn't have been possible for Utd and Madrid to have been in the same group.

I think United will have it tough on all three away trips. Sociedad are a fantastic side to watch and can really play, despite the loss of Ilarramendi.

Don't think H is a particularly tough group - Milan are weak at the minute (but improving and have some good players up front. Arsenal's group much tougher. Overall a very even draw I think.

United shouldn't have too much bother getting through.  I'd say Moyes will take no chances and will play his strongest suit in the group stages.

All gone a little quiet on the transfer front asides from the Herrera link last night.  Can't say I know all that much about him.  Whether or not Baines/Fellaini play for Everton tomorrow will be interesting.  If a transfer is imminent I can't see them playing.

United need more than Feillani.  He would be a great addition if played as a holding midfielder but we still need someone with that bit of class and killer pass.  Carrick, Giggs, Anderson or Cleverly aren't going to provide it.

Disagree with you about Carrick, class act. Utd need someone to do all the donkey work along with an extra bit of creativity that will enable Carrick to pull the strings in midfield (which he does already unsupported).

Moyes got fed up with him and gave him the old Glasgow Kiss, 'yer sitting on the bench ye fat granny shagger and that's that!'
