Maybe Starmer had a 'cunning plan' strategy all along....send dodgy Mandelson over to Washington, to deal with dodgy Trump. After all, they had previously had a very good friend in common. Otherwise, sending Mandelson over to the States never seemed to make any sense.

Mandelson by his own admission spent most of his waking minutes trying to get rid of Corbyn and was one of the main protagonists behind the scenes on the antisemitism campaign against him.

Starmer was his chosen leader along with the likes of Wes Streeting, Yvette Cooper etc.

This is now a power struggle within Labour, with the likes of Andy Burnham and Rayner trying to unseat this current group at the head of Labour.

Starmer's numbers went from 34% at the election to 17% in January. He will probably go after the May elections when Labour are wiped out.

He was allegedly harrassing young female staff at harper collins. This emerged a while ago and they had an investigation. The result of which is they aren't going to sell his back catalogue any more.
