Some result tonight in St Mary's park.. lads really stood up and were counted. Eoghan Byrne and Ryan Boyle immense throughout. Referee was excellent and didn't fall for their bully boy tactics.

I didnt get to Newry yesterday. But sounded like a routine win yesterday. Limerick tried to flood the defence to keep the score down. Anyone make an impression? How did Ben McConville play. McKibben and McGovern both got a few scores. London up next who demolished Offaly in Tullamore. The group stage doesn't get the imagination going.

it was a very 'professional' performance from Down yesterday, turn up get the job done and get plenty of players game time in doing so. Apart from first 10 minutes Down were always in control without really blowing Limerick away.
Daniel Guinness, Ryan McEvoy, Pierce Laverty were all very good, Odhran Murdock who played a lot of the game at full forward won a lot of ball and showed well in the forward line

Great win for the u20s, into the all Ireland B final after a 1 point win over Mayo

U20s grinded out a deserved win in a tight game. Some brilliant scores in the last 10 minutes by both sides but in fairness the switches made by the down management proved to be the difference.

Point-to-Point

Quote from: skat man on May 05, 2024, 04:47:19 PMDrumgath must be a decent side to draw with a glenn team on the week county players were all aloowed play.

Think people are expecting Glenn to walk division three after a good run in the senior championship last year, when in reality, there is no guarantee of that, with no game coming easy, as Drumgath showed us last week.

We've a good side, and we have some great players, but I wouldn't be getting complacent.

Annaclone could be a very tricky game, and the way Clann na Banna are going at the moment, it could be a banana skin, too.

I'd like to think we're Division 2 standard (and potentially Division 1), but  there's plenty of teams in Div 3 that would love to give Glenn a bit of a shock.

Good win for the lads, Mayo are never easy to beat. Westmeath in the final.

Truth hurts

Better to remain silent and be thought a fool, than to speak and remove all doubt

From what I've seen there's a real shortage out there rite now. There are fixtures not going ahead because of it.
Poor attendance in Newry, bit of a shame.

It's a tough job a referee with little support. I take to my hat off to the folks who do it as I would not be up for it.

skat man

why would anyone in Down want to become a referee when they seen how our best ref was treated and after all the talk of rigorous investigation its now been brushed under the carpet and why would the county board not hush it when the clubs and current referees stand by and let that happen.
