Bono sakes to the microphone to deliver a eulogy, and does so by reciting the lyrics to his own song, Beautiful Day. On one hand it should be in the WTF thread, but on the other, it's precisely the sort of self-obsessed move you'd expect from the p**ck.

If he was chocolate he'd eat himself and call it supporting local produce

Does the family contact him to say a few words or what way does that work?

The management sort it out. Generally friends, and to be fair Bono was one, and if the record company are footing the bill they might push an act.

You would.expect nothing else from that k..b. and to choose one of their worst songs to use.
Eddie Vedder put a good performance in. 10 times the front man bono ever was.

So what, they were friends and Bono obviously was asked which that seems to be the issue rather than his choice of words.

It's a funeral, not live f**king aid.

Tell that to bono. Him trying to get the congregation to join in with him singing the "Daaaaaaaaayyyyyy" word from his recited version of Beautiful Day at the end (and the Congregation not obliging). Then 'The Edge' suddenly wanders over and stands there awkwardly, seemingly also not knowing if he's at a funeral or live aid, and not sure if he's supposed to join in or not, before giving up and walking back to his pew.

Some of the scenes were cringe inducing. Priests didn't look too amused and I can't blame them.
All the absolute gipes with their phones out recording it too.

Heard a brief snippet of some of the 'artists' in attendance singing the auld triangle, absolutely butchered it, same vibe as Shane McGowan's funeral, a clientele with their faculties shot to bits looking on the bandwagon

The auld triangle must be one of the most butchered tunes over the years

Am I the only one that thinks Imelda May is a dose?

Does anyone in Ireland have  anything good to say about poor old  Bonzo  any more?

Any respect he once had , is surely long gone by  now?
