Nothing beats being there... in front of your own computer watching it on Armagh TV. ;D

Amazed by the confusion caused by this and lack of knowledge of GAA journalists. This cup is not named after the late Cardinal O'Fiaich, it was presented by him and named  after his late brother, Dr Patrick Fee.

Hard to blame journalists when the official information says it was.

"The competition was originally introduced to bring Senior County Football back to Crossmaglen at a time when the club's ground was still under occupation. It is of course named after the late Cardinal Tomas O'Fiaich a native of the area."

Well I can assure you that the late Cardinal commissioned the trophy and tournament originally to honour his late brother. It can only be crass third party revisionism that the trophy is now deemed to commemorate himself.

Not doubting that as I have no knowledge of the thing.

Armagh-Down decent enough so far. 5 a piece after about 25 minutes. Live on Armagh TV.

Ulick

Well taken goal by Grugan and Armagh ahead by three.

Charlie Vernon is wintering well by the looks of him.

No sign of McGeeney yet.

armaghniac

Did Armagh come out after half time? Down doing all the work, now +2.
If at first you don't succeed, then goto Plan B

Ulick

Andy Mallon almost gets a goal on his return. Good to see him back.

armaghniac

Well done Armagh and Armagh TV.

Down players were:

Shane Harrison, Connaire Harrison, Conor Garvey, Aidan Carr, Peter Fitz, Niall Madine, Liam Doyle, Peter Turley, Benny McCardle, Damien Turley, Sean Bell, and some lad Devlin

cant remember anyone else.

Overall thought it was a very worthwhile night for both teams. Armagh will be very pleased with coming back from 2 big deficits, but nearly threw it away in the end. Andy Mallon missed an absolute sitter and 1 end, then Down score straight away from the kickout.. Thought Grugan ran the show, man didnt stop at all! Annaghmore forward had a stormer scoring something like 1-4 on his debut..

Were derry & louth playing tonight?
