Shocking news.

Unfortunately James' wife Noreen passed away yesterday too. A terrible tragedy for Kilcar and Donegal.

My belated condolences to the McHugh family and great county of Donegal on this terrible tragedy. That was a fine Donegal team and James was instrumental in claiming All-Ireland glory against the odds (as i don't think they were favourites against Mayo or Dublin) , playing lovely football. First saw some of those lads break our hearts on wet slippery day on embankment in Carrick to win All-Ireland u21 ten years before including Martin who scored 0-5. James was minor then, won Ulster league. There was a talented crop coming through and ultimate glory came in 1992.
May James and Noreen rest in peace.

Padraig Horan, RIP. A wonderful player and leader.

Pull all the strands together that made Offaly's hurling breakthrough. It couldn't have happen without the absolute iron will of some of the leaders involved, especially Padraig.

Here is the recent Laochra Gael documentary. Padraig was sadly showing the effects of Parkinson's, but his stern determination and sense of humour was in no way diminished.

Name sort of rung a  bell.  Bit before my time though. I did know   about the Nigel Spink European Cup final story though.

It's difficult not to say  his name  in a Scouse accent. IYKYK.

His story was newsworthy and was so ridiculous you could easily see it being dramatised on netflix or something. His fantasies/lies should have been called out by someone yrs ago to put a stop to them before they  spiralled so out of control. That was the problem.
