Poots is a smart man and has a very difficult portfolio. He is not afraid to tackle issues head on, and there is no easy answer to continued budget reduction. Plus I think he is much less bigotted than his cohorts.

Michelle Gildernew & Michelle O'Neill deserve mention for their terms as Minister for Agriculture, McCausland doesent seem too clued in on the welfare reform any time he has been interviewed, it isn't exactly a dynamic bunch up on the hill though.

in fairness to gildernew the system that ran up the bill was already in place when she took over and her dept just kept doing what they had been doing. rules that were in place that really related to italy where the fraud was rampant were applied to all and sundry and we came up on the losing side. you'll agreed what has happened since regarding maps/sfp/intitlements etc is far more punitive than when gildernew was in charge. i thought she did well during the toxins scandal when her southern sliveen counterpart didnt even bother to inform her that poisin was in the foodchain but then it was only nordies who'd be eating it.

EMERGENCY ambulances have to queue at hospitals because they cant get their trollies back because the patients are left laying on them and they cant go back on the road without trollies. (maybe they could use pallets then they could stack the patients up)  your "health service" is the worst in the EC after greece and the pharaceutical companies that ireland depends on for work rip the arse out of the HSE/taxpayer in drug prices. its cheaper to buy the stuff over the counter in spain. yeah if pootsie sends sick kids into that system then he truely is the worst minister ever

Never seen as much nonsense over a non story....."evicting elderly" etc politicians are a law unto themselves. If all the trusts residential homes closed it involved just over 300 people in total....and they would all be placed in facilities that would provide a better service than they are currently getting. taking sick people out of one shithole and moving them 90mile to a bigger shit hole isnt an answer to any problem. i'm not trying to be partitionist or anything political or otherwise. i'm stating a fact. lift any newspaper in the country and there are nightmarish scandalous stories about the poor treatment of patients in the HSE. WHY OH WHY?? would anyone want to go where the system is failing?? what would be the point??? would you head to calcutta or north vietnam why not?
