Quote from: Around the glens on September 17, 2024, 05:18:46 PMDunloy have earned their stripes to play in the senior championship. The fact that their league and championship team is different is no fault of their own.

If they had of been beat out the gate on Sunday you could've said last year was a fluke. Not the case.

Dunloy far from the only club who field league teams greatly different to their first choice championship team.

And why league form not a great gauge for championship.

there's few teams about anywhere who'd have as much of a difference between their leagie form and championship form. While the relegation does appear a complete mess they are a hard one to cater for. They are borderline a junior team leaguewise.

How many clubs lose the calibre of players that dunloy lose due to county commitments? Not leaving off their own back, playing for their county.
Seaan nigel keelan coby Ryan mcgarry eoin o Neill eoin mcferran aodhan mcgarry?

Quote from: bannside on September 18, 2024, 10:24:33 AMHeard that Creggan were back out training last night!

What's LDs view? Will they contest there were 16 men on the pitch at the time?

You'de assume though that someone has got video evidence that Creggan now have access to before they would lodge an appeal!
Word on the street PG1 representatives tipped off creggan after seeing the vidoes of the game. Apparently fear was too large in the camp of facing PC13 again.

Well can look to that brigids team who have about 9 county players and won the league?

So Creggan were waiting on PG1 showing them some video. Now that's what I call a stretch..but hey,I wasn't at it and tbh I'd say PG1 wouldn't have any preference whether they were playing either club..both tough opponents. But don't let that spoil a good story.

Ps, Creggan gave PG1 a right touch in a recent league game.

Saffsontop

Won by a lot in a league match? I didn't know that. They must be heavy favourites for this semi then? Someone should alert the bookies in case they price it wrong. Sounds like they should be 1/10 because they won the league match.

About 9 sounds ridiculously exaggerated all the same.

As I said before, either would/will be tough proposition. All tough matches at this stage...

Is Ryan McGarry the young lad from Ballymena? Shouldn't he be playing for them?

I think St Brigids had just 2 players on the panel the last day out against Laois.

Rossa 2
LD 2
Aghagallon 3
Ballymena 3
St Galls 1
Portglenone 1
Glenravel 4
St Pauls 2
St Johns 2
Creggan 1
Cargin 2
St Endas 1

Ryan and Aodhan are brothers.

Aodhan transferred to Dunloy after playing for Ballymena at underage.

So I assume you mean him.

Not sure he has a case to answer though.

Are they not making a rod for their own back by releasing this....unless there is no evidence of a 16th man on the pitch and they can use this to get themselves off the hook?

Reactions at the time would say Ld had 16 on for a few seconds. Did it make any difference in the lead up to score -  doesn't look so.
Looks like could all of been sorted pretty quickly had the ref brought the ball back for Creggan's kickout.
Rules are rules and could end in a replay but not enough in it for me and it can't actually be proven how many players LD had on field.
