When I do it in larger towns or cities like Omagh or Belfast, I get funny looks...

Happens all the time in West Clare.Everyone salutes you while driving.

Saying "Thank You" to a bus driver. Peculiarly a Dublin thing (maybe) but a habit I hope we don't lose.
