IBA v ONH - St. James', Belfast
« on: July 30, 2010, 08:48:57 PM »
Where will it all end?

To give a short run down on the situation.

IBA (I'd Buck Anything) are a group of about 30 hoods from the St. James' area of west Belfast. Up to no good for years - house breaking, car theft etc.
ONH issued threats to them. ONH went to one of the IBA's house to 'do' him. Gun jammed. IBA member had gone to the peelers the week before to get a 'panic button'. He hit his panic button and the peelers scoop 5 ONH and the weapons.

The IBA go on a graffiti rampage in the area, writing things like -
"ONH - Rusty Guns"

"IBA 0
ONH -5"

There are also reports that they did similar to certain peoples' homes, businesses and cars. Take from that what you will.

ONH arrive down a couple of nights later, lift an IBA member and shoot him in both legs. They gave the IBA 36 hours to get out. A number of them are now in Lurgan but some standing their ground.

The above is just what I have heard from people living in the area and cannot be taken as fact.

I have friends in St James and in and around the Rock streets, it's a very bad situation and has been for at least 4 years now.  I can see it getting to the point where one of these IBA hoods gets shot dead. I know that quite a few locals have approached ONH and other paramilitary groupings with a view to finding out what they are doing about it. A few years back one of the hoods was trying to hijack cars with a gun on the Falls, just outside the shop facing Beechmount Leisure Centre, a random punter saw it happening, ran over and floored the hood.

It's on youtube, yer man had some dig on him  :D

Have seen it before and it was a goodun alright. I think I heard that was the boy who murdered Harry Holland too but again, cannot be taken as fact.

Funny that should be mentioned.

The Daily Mirror ran the story today that the boyo who was shot in the legs was a brother of Harry Holland's killer. They share the same surname alright but apparently the two are unrelated, which is interesting.

Yes, apparently his father went down to get the gun back and suffered a similar punch.
