Pogacar set a KOM on the Tourmalet of over two mins. That sounds insane. Except Vingegaard also broke the old record by 90 odd seconds. I think everyone down to Seixas was inside the old record.

Any idea who held the old record ? Was it Pinot by any chance?

Is peak Pogacar that far ahead of a 31 year old Bardet in 2023. Probably. The tourmalet is rarely used as a stage finish so how it is ridden will affect the times plus Yates, Del Toro all pulling for Pogacar will make some difference to the time. If there is something else afoot then i hope it comes out. Vingegaard will keep battling. Wonder why he was masked up when interviewed pre stage. Hint of illness?

I read somewhere it was Pogacar who held the old record???

It kind of reminds me of Vingegaard's stunning time trial in 2023, the one where a lot of them changed to road bikes for the climb. He destroyed absolutely everyone with an all time performance. You'd instinctively raise an eyebrow at someone of his physique dominating a time trial, and justifiably so. And then you see that Pogacar in second place also destroyed everyone else except Vingegaard in the field.

I don't even know if it will come out. It has still never come out about Usain Bolt and he was surely doped to the eyeballs too. Whatever they're using it's pushing the boundaries of legal and then the illegal things as well, plus bike tech etc. who knows but as I said I don't even care anymore. It's just amazing watching him in action. Boring for the tour all the same. Procession to Paris unless something dramatic happens like a crash.

There's not much to say these days. Demoralising for Vingegaard who came with high hopes. Even that finish today, dragging half a dozen rivals for miles and getting humped 500ms from the line, he knew it was coming but what do u do.

Really harsh on him. Remco had been dropped and ends up taking 12 seconds on him in the last couple of hundred yards, plus the bonus. He'll still go backwards in the high mountains though.

Del Toro losing a chunk of time was a surprise. Maybe a little chink of light for other teams.

Obviously Pogacar immense today but his body language towards end suggested he was at his max today. Perhaps little bit of fatigue there. Long way to go.

Remco really is something else on the TT bike. Awesome.

Bad couple of days for the Tour with both Vingegaard and Lipowitz crashing out badly. Would love to see Pog put on a show in the mountains but think he'll rein it in a bit like he did on the way to Plateau de Solaison on Sunday.

Del Toro vs Seixas probably the most interesting story left.

Was listing to a podcast this morning about Poc and Jonas being tested in the early hours. It was saying that to be tested between 12 and 6am they needed some court approval and can only be done if they have some information to warrant a test. I've probably butchered that but something along those lines. Be interesting to see if that information is ever released.
