Dealt with by the courts now you want Antrim/GAA to open a can of worms and permanently suspend a player? Catch yourself on. Where do you draw the line on suspensions in that case?

There may not be a way to officially suspend however for me, ever since the incident/story broke i've found it unsettling that the fella continues to represent Antrim.

Being a county player isnt just about skill and fitness, there is a standard off the field which is to be upheld. Many a player across all codes has been dropped from a panel just to off field behaviour.

He should not be representing Antrim GAA.

In fairness to the Co Board this is a tricky one and would set a serious precedence which could end up in a whole different conversation of various people playing our games.

In this case which is a very sad one, I think if the person in question had've shown any remorse or empathy to the victim this could have been an entirely different situation. The fact that he didn't and basically treated the victim with contempt makes this even more a pill to swallow watching him line our for Antrim and effectively represent all of us.

Read the article. If you're happy enough to take your kids to watch somebody like that well thats up to you.

That's not my point. My point is that plenty of bad things go on around the country, where are you happy to draw the line under suspensions?

When the person in questions pulls on a saffron top he represents us all.

He shouldn't be wearing the jersey.

Nothing tricky for the county board, its not about suspending him. Simply dropping him from the panel is a matter of management integrity.
Players in the past have been dropped from panels for off pitch behaviour, bar fights, drugs etc so the precedent is... if your character falls short of team standards your gone.

This wasnt a car crash that just happens, fella is remorseful, stays on the scene and helps the victim. He fled and tried to cover it up...

At this time he shouldve been pulled aside and told to go back to the club until it had ran its course. I blame mark doran for continuing to select him.

Now the case is settled he should be nowhere near a county team.

Two Hands FFS

So if he shouldn't be playing for the County, he should just play for his club? What's the difference?

Obviously what he done was shocking

Anyone seen any clarification if Carey or Creggan are through to semi? Saffron Gael have Creggan through but others interpret Carey having best goal difference.

Must have the criteria right for 2 teams h2h but not 3? Check the JFC, table has O'Ds in 3rd but they were actually second as per qf fixtures where they are at home to Pearses.

Tie Breakers should teams be level after all matches are completed:

(1) The higher number of League Points obtained in the 'Head-to-Head' games defined as the games in which the teams involved in the tie have played each other.
(2) The higher Scoring Difference (subtracting the total Scores Against from total Scores For) in the 'Head-to-Head' games.
(3) The higher Scores For in the 'Head-to- Head' games.
(4) If, having applied criteria (1) to (3) inclusive, there are still teams with an equal ranking, criteria (1) to (3) are applied to the 'Head to Head' games between the teams which remain tied.
(5) The higher Scoring Difference in all games in the League Group.
(6) The higher Scores For in all games in the League Group.
(7) A Play-Off.

The social media PR in Antrim Camogie puts the hurling and football to shame.

We are 3 days after the group stages being final and as far as I can see the JHC and SHC knock out fixtures have been posted but not the IHC.

Maybe they  are still trying to work out their own rules to establish who won the Carey/Creggan group .

Is it the county boards official policy just to leave the PR to the Saffron Gael and others ?

bannside

One and only Sean Kelly is the man behind the excellent camogie promotion. Light years ahead... Antrim football and hurling could do with his PR skillset.

And Saffron Gael shouldnt be taken for granted, Curly and Paddy wont be around forever and who will step up and try to fill those boots.

County should be supporting them much more too imo...

The saffron gael is a team now to be fair. Paddy and John do a lot but likes of BMCT, Kevin Herron, Bert, Brian McKee plus a lot more contribute a lot to it

They've been slagged on here already also but the we are antrim podcast is fantastic. Look forward to it every week.
