Quote from: SaffronSports on September 03, 2026, 05:03:57 PMMore manager IMO and I love MON. To me, he should have just shut the door in that game and went negative. They showed enough in the first leg that they could create chances so if they started hitting the net, which they did, he should have shut up shop. I think it was the third goal that Celtic were caught on the counter with two of their midfielders running beyond our midfield who were high up the park. Shouldn't be happening and took too long to try to shut it down.

Now.

McGregor and Nygren are 33 and 25 respectively.

Both are probably collecting far side of £20k a week.
If neither have the gumption to realise given the way the match was going, its strictly one sit, one go, then they need a bit of a bollocking.

If it were Donovan and another like him in centre midfield, I could get it. But not two supposedly experienced pros.

Nygren was subbed off fairly early from memory. We were comfortable enough in that match until he played LASK CF through for their first goal. After that we collapsed spectacularly

".....and, for me, the most important thing is our domestic football."

A quote from MON's press conference yesterday. Says it all really. A board puppet.

Sligo get 10%
Seeing as JK is moving from one country to another, all the clubs he was registered with (not clubs he was loaned to) should benefit financially to varying degrees depending on time spent with them. Sligo will get the 10% plus a fixed % fee for the 5 or 6 years developing the player

What?

Kenny moved as a pro for a fee, Sligo got a sell on in the deal.

This isn't a kid moving where compensation is guaranteed

I seen that and the first thing i thought was...Ok these games cost me close to £300 a pop to go too and he's basically saying they're not bothered about Europa League and that the domestic league it the most important. Right, Ok. So do I book the games and waste the money on a pile of dung turing out or players not giving 100%...WTF.
He said we'll see where they're at come January to see if they're gonna take it serious or not, this is a shit show TBH and it leaves you not know to splash your cash or stay at home. I'm on the home cup scheme so Celtic are going to take £35 out of my account before every home game regardless.

illdecide, I admire and respect your devotion.  It is genuinely admirable (and expensive!).  However, as long as the guys at the top can rely on the 70,000 people like you and the supposed waiting list to replace you then nothing changes.  If you decided to jack it in as a protest (not for one minute saying you should) I have no doubt someone would replace you and your money in a heartbeat.  It's a disgrace that they are doing this to people who follow Celtic as a way of life.  The Board are content to finish first in a one horse race forever, that's as far as their ambition stretches.  Desmond and his lackeys need to go.  MON not covering himself in glory either and I love the guy.

I have thought about it plenty of times but then I also say "why should these morons running the club stop me seeing the team i've supported for 45 years". They just happen to be the idiots running the club atm but they won't aways be there but Celtic will, there are plenty of pro's and cons for running away but I just keep getting sucked back in.

Seriously don't know. Celtic made them Zombies look like Barcelona today. I can take a beating from a better team on the day, a wonder goal or even a Referee decision like a sending off and penalty etc but what drives me mental and in GAA too is getting beat out the park when the other team bullies you and you have monkey nuts for testicles. from 1 - 11 Celtic were pathetic and didn't want to know, Rangers hassled and harried Celtic and got in their faces and they didn't like it one bit. How can you be so toothless, spineless and be afraid to get stuck in.

Johnstone Keeper is no better than Sinisalo so why bring him in
Colby Donavan was the only player to show a bit of fight but his lack of experience and quality showed...Alistair Johnstone where are you.
CCV - Too slow and has lost his marbles
Scales - lacking quality
Tierney - Usually reliable but not today
McGregor - Christ the night
Nygren - Sweet Jasus mother of Mary and Christ the night
Baur - Where were you son...
Tounekti - Where do you actually start with this person...not worth 2 balls a blue and is afraid of his own shadow
Kasper Hogh - Be safer with Kasper Schmeichel up front, looks rotten but that's only from he joined Celtic
Camilo Duran - Has been our best player so far but had a Regi Blinker today.

Wouldn't even mention subs as it was irrelevant your Honor

Management not good enough. 2 tests this year and have failed miserably. MON not up to it unfortunately.

Yesterday was a normal performance in a big game. Everybody has given them a game this year. They should have won 5-0 and it would have been a fair reflection of game.

bannside

A proper shocker. As bad a mauling as theres been for a long time..no one came out of it well. There will need to be a big response this weekend.

100%...Forgot to mention the Management who were terrible too, the got the line up wrong, they got the tactic's wrong and the obviously forgot to tell the players what atmosphere they were walking into. Even though Celtic have just taken the money from my account for Thursday's Europa League game I'm staying at home. I'm not paying flights and Hotels to watch that sh1te as he'll probably try a few different players on Thursday nite with Sunday's rematch in mind. Celtic could well lose the next 2 games as well as the mauling they got yesterday.
