Day of the All Ireland football final... is this for real?

barelegs

Not just day. The All Ireland final won't ever be over by the time the first game throws in!

I see the CPA have got involved with the fixture clash with the AI Final.  Wonder will the CB buckle to their request to change the fixture??  Its the sensible thing to do and an easy win for the CPA

Many of the fixtures to be changed supposedly following last night's Management Meeting. Including All Ireland Day fixtures and games fixed for the same day as triple header of ladies championship finals.

skeog

Common sense no games should be fixed on All Ireland final day.

Any word of movement on those games fixed on Saturday 9th at same time as the ladies triple header of finals? St. Macartans final is  fixed for 6 o'clock with Eskra playing at 4.45. Half the Macartans team are from Eskra and I'm sure there'll be brothers and sisters throughout the teams who'd want to see each other play in the championship. Not to mention other family members and supporters who'd want to see both.  Eskra is part of the Macartans club so I don't see why the two games are fixed to clash - like would they have fixed the likes of Errigal, Carmen or Kileeshil to play a championship final in the ladies at the same time as their men were playing championship in a different venue? Is there no correspondence between the two county boards over stuff like this? One of the fellas over Eskra at the minute is also part of the management of Macartans so I dunno how hes supposed to be in two places at one time.

If its Mark McCarroll your talking about I think he walked away from Eskra seniors! Maybe feeney is over st. macartans now too.

Eskra in disarray by all accounts, management walking, relegation to the lower tier, struggling at youth. Clubs like eskra, dregish, drumquin could struggle to exist in 5 years.
