I would've thought so before yesterday's game but now that omagh lost their first choice midfield yesterday so I would've hoped that enda and cormac will be able to handle omaghs second choice midfield. In saying that we will still be underdogs I presume.

Wouldn't call Grugan and Tierney a poor second choice midfield!

stewartstown v coalisland (u-16 grade 1 semi) ended in draw last night at derrylaughan.
the game finished about 8.25pm but it was obviously getting dark at stage.
the ref rang someone in county board to see if extra time should be played, but was informed not to play it.
if extra time is supposed to be played in these games then why isn't it factored into the starting time?
throw-ins should be 6.30/6.45pm at venues that don't have proper lights.

Given the economic turmoil of Target express I'd say Tyrone will be looking for a new sponsor-sign of the times unfortunately - alot of people could be out of work.

Was up at Dunmoyle on Sunday, well contested affair by both teams even though it was tough to get any good sequences of play going with a very whistle happy referee. Didn't see what McMahon and Starrs did in the scuffle towards the end but there was a bit of a melee and fists were thrown. Number 6 for Clonoe definitely butted, think Diarmaid Kerr (No. 7) may well have been on the receiving end as reports say he has a broken nose.

Omagh were well off the pace in the first half shooting far too many wides and not really having much fluidity to their play against the wind. They will look back on two early 2nd half strikes from Clonoe that both came back off the woodwork as being a tad lucky. However a 2nd half inspired by the phenomenal Conan Grugan and McMahon brothers eventually saw them home even though they had to sweat a little more than they should have towards the end. Some of the younger player's still showed that inexperience in not putting the nail in the coffin when 3 points up in injury time. Grugan will surely be giving Mickey Harte food for thought with performances like that and the previous week. Will be interesting to see how they fair against Errigal Sunday week without big Joe.

Sad to hear the news about Target Express, sign of the times  :(

Derrylaughan has a fully lit playing field but the seniors were training same time clar, agree though these things are controllable if proper consideration given also on a seperate not see the under 14 grade 1 final is down for a Monday evening what sort of a night is this to play a final could this not have been pencilled in for a sat befoer a big game or that total disrespect to the Grade. Just get these fixtures outa the way!

Whatever people have said in the past about Omagh not being serious championship contenders, this result has surely changed that view.

They showed a lot of character to come back in both games against Clonoe, who were many peoples tip to win the championship.

Who are the favourites now?

EC Unique

I don't know about Championship favourites but given the circumstances I am confident in Errigals chances against Omagh.

Just don't get that, Clonoe have been down 6 players from last year championship panel due to injuries and immagration. From the drawn game with Omagh, we lost another two that were not going to be available for the rest of the season due to injury, 8 in total. We knew we would be very hard to beat, but we also knew we we didn't have the panel to win it. We were very surprised by how well we were doing in the league due to the injuries and loses we have had. The league has been poor this year for the reasons previously discussed on here in that two of the teams were unable to complete for the top 4 spot, which definately took the spice out of many games.

Fair enough point regarding players missing but you can only beat what's put in front of you. The result will give Omagh a big confidence boost especially as they were underdogs in both games. Championship favourites are Dromore and rightly so, they are still the team to beat!

I hear Ardboe have been kicked out of the Minor Championship for refusing to play the extra time vs Cookstown!!!  Right decision??? This one will cause some row, county board came down strong here

I said on here last week, it is not up to the visiting team to decide if they play extra time or not. It is up to the referee - pure and simple. Obviously the Ref thought that it was safe to go ahead with the game and he has put this in his report. There was a game played on the same pitch two days later and was safe enough to play extra time, it was a duller evening and the game didnt start to well after quarter past seven. Rules are Rules.
