with all the bad press referees have been getting lately (some deserved, some not) i would like to compliment a referee  :o :o :o think he's called ....... mchugh from aghayarn/castlederg and he reffed the fintona/killyman game on friday night.sensible approach, let the game flow as much as he could, talked to the players;not the way a teacher would scold pupils but the way a man would talk to another man.the result?players got on with the game, there were not a rake of yellow cards, although killyman no6 got 2 yellows near the end.think if more referees of a supposed higher standard/quality in the county started talking to players and treating them like men there would be less problems with officials

You're referring to Maoliosa Mc Hugh of Castlederg there laceer I'd say, and I'd wholeheartedly agree. Did a good job of Strabane vs Urney reserves a week ago on Friday in Clady, not the easiest of bearpits to referee competently and fairly in.

More likely to be Eamon McHugh from Aghyaran.  Excellent young ref part of Ulster Academy.  He has done a few of our senior games - very good. Will be refereeing intercounty in next year or two I would say.

Stephen O'Neill has been getting specialist treatment on his hamstring tear all week may return to training in 2 weeks if all goes well.
Brian Dooher has ongoing groin problem hopefully he will be okay.
He has had this injury for a few weeks.

Cheers Porky. Saw Stevie on Saturday and he looked OK, not that that means much. Just tell him to get on that bike! (For the hamstrings)  ;)

snappiered

Big Sean was frustrated yesterday as he was well marked. He was unfortunate to be sent off. The no 6 for Moy should have been lined for the previous challange. Duno why the Moy or our corner back was sent off. N e Moy posters what yous think of match leaving the referee out of it.

orangeman

Who referreed the Moy v Loughmacrory match ? I still think there is a competition going on amongst refs to see how many they can send off so that they can climb Mickey's ladder to success !

goal and a point

Wee Roddy

Donal Dorman and this likes of this idiot you talking about that sent Sean off are getting Tyrone football a bad name. Ronan McSherrys comments in the Monday Herald have without doubt got some truth but he should not be tarnishing clubs who get players sent off for incidents that are not even fouls. Egomanaics the whole of them

On yesterdays game, if Ardboe play like that every week without missing players they will have no problems. I can not believe Cookstown beat them. Ardboe lads, do you think you will be better of without Roger Keenan.
I think that Ciaran McAleer is the best centre half back in club football at the minutes. He was outstanding again yesterday.

orangeman

Wee Roddy - couldn't agree with you more about refs - eogtistical but then they have a good teacher in Michael  - can you imagine the seminars ? Send off as many as possible especially if they're from Ardboe or Carmen - and if you don't send them off, then you'll not get any more big games - Stephen Mc Namee has well and trult learned his lesson - he even got our chairman 12 weeks into the bargain - so thanks a lot Stephen - you're taking Mickey's advice well - keep it up !
