"There's three clubs in Tyrone that don't have a referee. We chatted earlier in the year about deducting point from clubs, but that was shot down at the county committee.

Those 3 should be the first to have their games postponed.

Those 3 had their reserve games postponed at the weekend - but they should have been forced to concede them in my opinion

In the report it says at the end 'Ardboe did manage to add further points to their total but a flurry of cards saw them reduced in numbers' so the ref obviously dealt with those incidents as he saw fit. Seems like the type of game that the ref would have needed eyes in the back of his head as well.

One minute we are discussing the looming crisis of a lack of referees in Tyrone.
The next we're scrutinising a ref almost as if he was boxing young boys in the mouth.
Let's be honest, there isn't a referee in Tyrone who would see a dirty action resulting in such a nasty injury and decide not to take action.
People think the referee has to see everything. I don't see everything when I go to games because I can only be looking one road at one time. It's the exact same for the referee.

Sounds like Ardboe behaved very badly at getting beat, I think the most of the discontent came from the fact it was decided play could continue with such a nasty injury.

Indeed, that's the point. Most of the discontent - the referee.
Could it be that he wasn't aware of the extent of the injury when he decided to let play continue? Or is it more plausible that he looked at the young boy with that horrible injury and thought "f**k ye"?
It's like people are just primed to think the worst about a referee in a given circumstance.
Yet, we wonder why nobody will do it.

Quote from: Rebel84 on August 08, 2024, 12:22:03 PMDungannon's main forward was struck off the ball last night by a Clonoe defender but as the Referee didn't see it he couldn't send the Clonoe player off. At the final whistle the Clonoe full back threw a punch at one of Clarkes midfielders and if the Clarkes lad had have struck back then all hell would have probably broken loose. Thankfully the Clarkes didn't take the bait and they are sitting in a championship final without any worries of suspensions.

You must have missed your best forward swinging his elbow first I would hardly say he was struck an aggressive push I would call it and your 17 clapping his hands right up into 2 Clonoe players faces at the final whistle when he should have been shaking hands created a reaction eventually and no one got hit.  How ever the best team by a distance won good luck in the Final...
