Trump has been consistently pro Russian since he began to facilitate dry cleaning cash for Putin and his protected elite after his visit in 1987. He has not deviated one iota since. He's not stabbing Ukraine in the back because that implies he was inclined towards Ukraine  and now has changed.  Regardless, Russia had suspended diesel exports since the AFU targeted refineries in Russia  and now is probably a good time for the Ukraine diesel sanctions on Russia to be escalated.

What he's got from his buddy Putin we're talking about maybe 5,000,000 tonnes of diesel in total, the US burns through 300,000 - 500,000 tonnes of diesel a day, so this deal covers them for about 2 weeks
