I only glance at American politics now, but is it me or every time someone is running for election, proposed for office, there seems to be sleaze, rape, prostitution allegation?
Either America is full of horned up, sexual predators or these women are I don't know? Making it up? Paid? Produced in some lab somewhere? Crazy place.

The current process of sifting through the evidence is not to establish a truth in the allegations, the process is a search for a suitable appointment to the US Supreme Court, a lifetime appointment.
The mere existence of credible bias is enough to overturn a court's ruling, and how much more is that the case when this potential corruption pertains to a lifetime appointment to the highest court in the land.
As it stands now Kavanaugh is tainted, not only that, both  Kavanaugh and his supporters seem reluctant to take even the minimum necessary steps to impartially and genuinely investigate the allegations against him. That only makes the taint more credible.

Glad you are starting to take Maher and the "failing" NYT seriously. Romney and Bush were benign greedy; they just wanted to keep their "hard earned" money away from Welfare Queens and start wars in a democratic way. This orange lunatic is a different proposition. He wants to rule omnipotently and the Republicans are backing him to the hilt so that they can stay very wealthy and make sure evangelicals and right wing Catholics can stay in control of reproductive rights; mostly women's.

Late last night Grassley's chief counsel, who'd question Ford in a staff interview & prep Grassley's questioning in a hearing, tweeted that he's "unfazed" & "determined" to "confirm Kavanaugh," then confirmed he personally conducted Kavanguah's questioning & attacked Ford's camp.
