US intelligence agencies believe Russia acted covertly to boost Donald Trump in the election race, US officials have told leading newspapers.

A report in the New York Times says the agencies had "high confidence" about Russian involvement in hacking.
A CIA assessment reported by the Washington Post made similar findings.

But Mr Trump's team dismissed the CIA line, saying: "These are the same people that said Saddam Hussein had weapons of mass destruction."

The funniest thing about Trump is that he feels the need to respond to everything immediately. And the scariest thing about Trump is that he feels the need to respond to everything immediately.

His comment on WMDs is an eye-opener. It was a lie, invented by his friends in extreme republican la-la land, but he blames the media for it. This is where we are going in the near future. More lies, more wars and always blame someone else. Rinse and repeat.

I think he is blaming the CIA, whereas it was cherry picking of what they presented by Cheney and co., aided by a servile CIA Director, George Tenet, that was the issue.

Basically the same as what Trump is trying to do now - cow them into supporting his preferred narrative.

Trump.is an older and richer version of Cathal  McCarron.  He is going to be even worse than Bush 2.
When Rome was in economic trouble it had leaders like Caligula and Nero. So much for American exceptional ism.

That would be even funnier. Blaming the CIA for getting it wrong about Russia helping him win, when the CIA probably did a better job of that themselves!

There are claims as well that the Russians also hacked the RNC, but did not release the documents to Wikileaks.

If that is ever confirmed, or if the Russians do at some point decide its time to embarrass Trump and the GOP, should be amusing to hear those that were SOOOO offended by the meddling and unfiltered chat of the DNC.

Who ever said I was a Trump supporter?  God only know what the Russians have on him.

When Romney warned of the Russian threat during the 2012 debates he was ridiculed and mocked by the Democrats and Obama in a particularly condescending and sneering manner.....c hickens came home to roost for them

So what is emerging is potentially a modern day watergate! The CIA lie discredited and weak. Russia were either spying for themselves or somebody else and manipulated the flow of information to create the next us president of their choice...This election was null and Void. What about Asange role. Who was paying him...

You spent the entire election lambasting 50% of the two candidates. It is blatantly obvious who you wanted to win. It woz the damn emails wot done it.

As for Romney. Here is what he said:

Romney: "There's no question but that in terms of geopolitics -- I'm talking about votes at the United Nations and actions of a geopolitical nature -- Russia is the No. 1 adversary in that regard. That doesn't make them an enemy. It doesn't make them a combatant. They don't represent the No. 1 national security threat. The No. 1 national security threat, of course, to our nation is a nuclear Iran. Time continues to pass. They continue to move towards nuclearization. This is more and more disconcerting and dangerous to the world. But Russia -- particularly look at a place like Syria. Russia has supported the Assad regime even as it has been attacking its own people. Russia likewise has been slow to move to the kinds of sanctions that have been called for in Iran. Russia is a geopolitical adversary, but it's not an enemy with, you know, missiles being fired at one another or things of that nature."

So in this interview, as he would do later in the debate, Romney emphasized the difference between Russia, his No. 1 foe or enemy for the United States, and Iran, his No. 1 threat because of its effort to build nuclear weapons.

But regardless, Putin has some invisible strings over Trump. It will be very interesting to see how this plays out.

Obama was winning against Russia He severely weakened the Russian and Iranian economies without firing a single shot. The Russians countered by rigging the election in favour of their man. He got Republicans and their voters to fight back for him. Genius.

You can only rig an election by tampering with vote or the count.

That didn't happen. The election was ligit.

Wikileaks claim they only attacked Clinton because that was the only information 'they were given'.

...At the same time, we cannot publish what we do not have. To date, we have not received information on Donald Trump's campaign, or Jill Stein's campaign, or Gary Johnson's campaign or any of the other candidates that fufills our stated editorial criteria...

Of course we know it was the Russians doing the giving, so of course they didn't get information on Trump.
