The US has made some major foreign policy f**k-ups over the past half century + but surely the continued cold war with Cuba must  be the most ludicrous policy for the longest time of any successive governments of any one country*.

How anyone can criticise a country making or reciprocating overtures from one of their neighbours is beyond me.

Netanyahu  is a grade A arsehole.  He went behind Obama 's back to speak to congress in 2011 and the GOP gave him 29 ovations. He bet the house on the GOP and now it has no voters. Now AIPAC has to invite Trump to its conference even though he has made antisemitic  statements. You couldn't make it up.

Do you mean that it's unreal that a President of the US has the foresight to do both? absolutely, seems perfectly reasonable, smart even.

If you mean that it is unreal that the President of the USA is meeting the president of a neighboring country that it is re-establishing valuable trade and political links with the US? well, that seems perfectly reasonable- smart even.

That he is also not meeting the PM of a country that is arguing about the details of the 10 year multibillion defense aid agreement it is receiving from the US, and also interfered with the US international relationships and domestic security policy to try and collapse the US led international nuclear treaty with Iran? again, that seems perfectly reasonable- smart even

The fact that its because that PM declined to travel to the US to accept the President's invite for bilateral talks (but falsely blamed it on the president's schedule)- well that seems a bit daft of the PM of that small country roughly the size of half of ulster. And maybe unreal that the President would ask twice. After all he's not seeking re-election and can maybe use that fact on behalf of the US in those talks.

I hadn't seen any coverage of the new US state department policy of having diplomatic and trade relations only with countries with a strong record on human rights. Like say for example China, or Saudi Arabia...

And I was also unaware of the president "took it up the arse", again something I would have expected would have attracted a significant amount of press. At the very least some of the comedians should have been picking that kind of thing up.
