Tell your friend I feel awful that his safe space has been violated and I will send him some carbon credits and a soy vegan latte to cheer him up

Not that I'd be calling you out on assuming their gender but from my original post She voted for Kasich in the Republican primary
and she's what was once termed a moderate republican who likes her coffee black ;)

Phew...Ill need to keep all my money if Bernie comes in

In all seriousness is your friend originally from Boston?

The high school rivalries here have been going on for decades and what happened last Friday is nothing compared to $hit that's gone down in the past.

This is one of my favorites:  http://m.wickedlocal.com/article/20080711/NEWS/307119294

I stopped reading at "PC brigade."

Did you stop for a little cry in between your spoonfuls of lentil risotto?

Born bred and buttered in the area so no stranger to interschool rivalries.

Anyone who thinks that a Presidential candidate, who is winning, who is getting wall to wall coverage, and who is calling for beatings and people he dislikes to be carried out on a stretcher, won't have an impact on the young and impressionable and on the stupid and the desperate, needs to learn a bit of history.

Mosley springs to mind, for example, although he opposed the Black & Tans in Ireland so he had at least one policy worth defending, unlike Trump who would probably have built a wall around us.

In the 80s my wife's schools supporters got chased down the street and had the windows smashed on their bus. In the 60s her dad attended BC High and got hit over the head with a chain after a basketball game by a rival supporter. Now in 2016, a group of Catholic students respond to an offensive chant from a group of Jewish kids with one of their own, and somehow it's Donald Trumps fault

The link is tenuous, but why do you think has it all started again in 2016?

They are all sport related.

Trump is bringing it mainstream and bringing it everywhere.

Serious question, do they allow everyone take guns into Republican political rallies?

Eh....the chanting which so offended Declans friend occurred at a school basketball game.

They can bring them into any political rally as long as the state and local laws allow it and you have a vaild permit. Some individual facilities may have a blanket ban though but its questionable if that would stand up if challenged in court

There is nobody for conservatives to vote for. The GOP is so extremist. Cruz was behind the 2013 shutdown. Rubio is a clown.  Trump is a proto fascist.

Everything you said was true

And Bernie is a Socialist and Hillary might be getting indicted

We're completely fvcked and I'm deadly serious
I feel sorry for middle of the road conservatives, say FG types, who have decent conservative values and nobody to vote for. The GOP is run for billionaires. Cruz or Rubio wouldn't have a hope of getting elected in the UK.

You put Fine Gael and decent in the same sentence. Might want to amend that.

I honestly think that when the Republican propaganda machine leaves it alone Obama will be remembered as one of the great Presidents!!

In 20\30 years time people will look back and realise what he's achieved!

Didn't know that.

It will be interesting to see where Trump goes with his rhetoric. If he tones it down, fine. If he cranks it up, then it could get very messy.
