There are plenty of bad liberals and many of them are Democrats.

There are plenty of good conservatives and none of them are Republicans.

This is the lady a lot of you would love to see as President.

One of her opponents lit her up on her ethics last night and when cooper asked her to respond she said NO.

You cannot defend the indefensible, she is pond scum!
Armagh, the one true love of a mans life.

By all (other) accounts, Hillary Clinton wiped the floor with her opponents last night. But you seem to have seen something different. What was this question that exposed her?

What has her flippant remark on Qadaffi got to with ethics?

Right, because he can't take a second to make a joke AND do his job.

You must exist in a constant state of frothing outrage if THAT bothered you!

And in what parallel dimension does a president need to seek publicity!! ;D

He's a clown but he's not paid to be a comedian. Best leave that to Kevin Hart, Hannibal Burress or Seth Rogen.

While he's busy doing talk shows like Ellen he could have been working on his foreign policy.

Giving up any time to other publicity seeking clowns is taking time away from the issues. If Kanye West's presidential campaign for 2020 is in the forefront of his mind then you see what sort of problems the US faces.

Vote Democrats. Woo yeah.

Maybe that will convince you otherwise.

Now if that doesn't show he's a publicity seeking fool then I don't know what is. How about tackling the real issues that affect the citizens?

You mean he's a politician? They aren't really interested in other citizens...

The president is a publicity seeking fool?

The president is seeking publicity?

Really? Think about  this one now. The president of the United States thinks he needs *more* publicity?

That is complete and utter shite. All the politicians do these shows. Presidents are on duty 24 hours a day -just because they are doing an interview and, heaven help us, making a pop culture joke,  doesn't mean they and their team are not on top of whatever is going in. You think Bush wasn't making decisions while he was out on his ranch with his chainsaw? Or Reagan out on his horse.

Lets put it another way: are you not capable of having an opinion on GAA or whatever it is brings you here in addition to doing your job properly?

Pathetic!

A lot of talk round here about Obama's lack of action in taxing the wealthy, without referring to the pledge -

Taxpayer Protection Pledge[edit]
Prior to the November 2012 election, 238 of 242 House Republicans and 41 out of 47 Senate Republicans had signed ATR's "Taxpayer Protection Pledge", in which the pledger promises to "oppose any and all efforts to increase the marginal income tax rate for individuals and business; and to oppose any net reduction or elimination of deductions and credits, unless matched dollar for dollar by further reducing tax rates."[31][32]

The November 6, 2012 elections resulted in a decline in the number of Taxpayer Protection Pledge signatories in both the upper and lower houses of the 113th Congress: from 41 to 39 in the Senate, and from 238 to "fewer than ... 218" in the House of Representatives.[33] According to journalist Alex Seitz-Wald, losses in the election by Norquist supporters and the "fiscal cliff" have emboldened and made more vocal critics of Norquist.[34]

In November 2011, Senate Majority leader Harry Reid (D-NV) blamed Norquist's influence for the Joint Select Committee on Deficit Reduction's lack of progress, claiming that Congressional Republicans "are being led like puppets by Grover Norquist. They're giving speeches that we should compromise on our deficit, but never do they compromise on Grover Norquist. He is their leader."[35] Since Norquist's pledge binds signatories to opposing deficit reduction agreements that include any element of increased tax revenue, some Republican deficit hawks now retired from office have stated that Norquist has become an obstacle to deficit reduction.[36][37] Former Republican Senator Alan Simpson (R-WY), co-chairman of the National Commission on Fiscal Responsibility and Reform, has been particularly critical, describing Norquist's position as "[n]o taxes, under any situation, even if your country goes to hell."[5]

Sorry posters of a conservative bent, but once one of the parties is committed to this idiocy then there is nothing else Obama can do. Mitch McConnell vowed to get rid of Obama after one term, and committed his party to the lunatic course they have followed since. The narrative that both parties are as bad as each other is a false one and a couple f studies and books have recently come out championing that argument.

Absolutely nothing wrong with conservatism, but the Freedom Caucus are actually much closer in spirit to the Bolsheviks - they believe themselves a vanguard, revolutionary movement and they have zero respect for democracy as the gerrymandering of congressional districts and the rollback of the Voters right act proves. Throw in the misogyny on display from Todd Aiken, to Sandra Fluke to Planned Parenthood, the barely veiled racism of the Birthers etc and the enviromental blood lust as instanced by Keystone and the gutting of the EPA (originally set up by Nixon, for Christ's sake) and you have a party where Reagan and Nixon would struggle to replace Boehner. And you don't have to be American to be interested or worried because many of the decisons taken by American politicians impact directly upon us.

It's sad and scary to see what has happened to the Republicans, only a split into a hard right rump and a more moderate wing will save them in any form.
