I support the decision but it is a risk. Won the premier league in his first season and qualified for the champions league in his second season. Iraola or whoever they hire are not guaranteed to do as well.

There's big questions over Alonso's decision-making. Whatever about his spell at Real, throwing your lot in with a Chelsea squad with more holes than swiss cheese is the act of either a mercenary or a fool. I don't think he's anywhere near the white knight some guys make him out to be.

Iriola confirmed.. Rumours are Liverpool board didn't want Alonso as he was wanting to be a Manager not Head Coach. So they waited until after Chelsea appointed him to avoid backlash from Liverpool fans
