Good to see the owners taking some action - they're obviously well aware of the club's history and where this club should be and aren't going to tolerate the results and performances from the league this season. Liverpool's league position doesn't lie, just not good enough and somebody had to take responsibility.  Liverpool are at a bit of a crossroads - settle for being a mid table type of club and accept mediocrity or strive again for the very top. The owners have been giving the financial backing to support the team's development but the current position could have obtained with a quarter of the financial outlay.

Are you for real? Fenway sports have invested heavily into Liverpool FC franchise in the hope of a return in their investment. The only way they are going to get that is by being in the champions league. That isn't going to happen so someone or maybe more will take the fall.

Yep i understand that. A desire for profits and an understanding of the club's status in the game aren't mutually exclusive. The reason they bought the club is the strength of the club name and its worldwide appeal (and thus potential for financial return) all which comes from  the club history of success. Therefore they will be well aware of the fact that the team should be challenging for all the major honours.

ESPN is ridiculous! Chris Waddle going on about Enrique. I completely understand why Agger and Carragher were seleced. Enrique hasn't been playing well and Everton pose an aerial threat. Then you have Martin Keown saying that Liverpool are playing 3 at the back and it caused confusion for the goal! They are playing 4 at the back FFS. John Barnes at least had the sense to say that 3 at the back or 4 what did that have to do with the goal? Sweet f**k all! Lazy analysis and trying to imply that Dalglish was afraid to drop Carragher too. It's like these guys read the papers and just repeat the same old shite!
