Anyone find the dynamic between Catherine Corless and Liam Neeson strange on last week's LLS? For the entire interview Catherine had her back turned to Liam - even at the end.

Liam's solo interview before Catherine came to join him was cold and distant to Pat Kielty.

Thought he seemed very odd throughout, like he wasn't fully engaged.

I like the lad but as LLS host Kielty is bling dung, a descent into corny darkness from the already low levels of Tubridy. The LLS is absolutely dreadful. Imagine the county's top entertainment show being totally outplayed by a one on one interview format with an unknown.

Norton relies on his contacts and the bigger market to get in celebs.
The Late Late just doesn't have that pull.
Even U2 on their 50th didn't come on when you'd expect a full show.

For the reasons Captain Scarlet has mentioned it simply can't maintain quality for 30ish 90 minute episodes per season.

The LLS is too sanitised  nowadays - in it's heyday the audience and viewer didn't know the lineup of guests in advance.
There was also spontaneity, drunken guests and audience interaction that led to some memorable moments.

Interviews are scripted. Guests are recycled. Guests are not big names. There is no current affairs covered anymore. The Government is the main contributor to RTE - €720,000,000. Quite a sum of money. Nobody under 45 watches it. Kielty is going through the motions - collecting the money.
