Hectic

Certainly have all the know how.

Only thing that would put any doubt in my mind is the new rules and if they have the potential to impact.

Time will tell.

St Brigids pitch would not be capable of hosting a quarter final anyhow unfortunately for different reasons.

1/4 finals all neutral venue

Quote from: BigGreenField on September 01, 2025, 06:55:51 PMIs Smith for Dunloy a short term absence?

Should be but with being dual anyone can pick up niggles at any time.

Any truth in some of the Lavey contingent falling out ?

Around the glens

Cargin aghagallon Fri night dunsilly
Dunloy st brigids sat 5pm toome
Rossa creggan sun Lamh dhearg
St galls pg1 sun dunsilly

YoungSaff

Lmah Dhearg not much of a neutral venue for creggan Rossa  ;D

Hectic

Probably is if you are driving from Creggan and walking from Rossa.

Spike

either way is it on LD's new pitch or old pitch?  Old pitch isn't suitable for a QF championship match

Hectic

Just checked and it is closer to drive from Creggan than walking from Shaws Road.

St Teresa's probably would have been a fairer choice but maybe not deemed suitable for parking or the like.

As for old or new pitch.  Are Rossa and Creggan not used playing on pitches that would be on the smaller side anyway?

Take the Mark

On my last visit to Hannastown for a championship game I parked in a field and then had to walk through a farm before trekking across another field and through a gate into their new pitch. So no Hectic, I don't think its about parking

The ground/changing rooms aren't suitable never mind the field

surely st endas be a decent neutral ground for this ?
to be fair, they normally get their neutral venues spot on.

St Endas would be a lot better yes. My only problem with St Endas is that the main spectator standing area is also the through road for most of the parking.

Portglenone, Cargin and Dunsilly are our best venues for games especially this time of the year. Car parking and surface

100%

Dunsilly is good for location, parking, pitch and viewing but facilities are not ideal especially for women and children, portaloos at pitchside aren't ideal.

Portglenone a good venue however the traffic heading back out the gortgole road is a nightmare if theres a big crowd.

The traffic gets out of Toome fairly sharp due to the proximity of a dual carriageway. The pitch itself is in the best order its ever been in too. It might be construed as bias but from a viewing perspective its the best outside of Corrigan for football.

Dunloy also excellent but unfortunately not central for traditional championship games with the big ball.

Need clubs who can muster a good squad of volunteers too to run the day smoothly.  It's another factor.
