Quote from: Saffron71 on August 30, 2025, 07:25:29 PMI could be wrong here but I'm nearly sure in a three way tie on points it comes down to score difference in the games played between those three teams. This has been the case in the Hurling Championships or so I'm lead to believe. So that would be Ahoghill bottom on -13, St Paul's would be on +1 and Aghagallon on +12.

So it is likely to be a three team relegation play off round between TNN (14th League);Aldergrove(8th); Ballymena (4th) or Lamh Dearg(7th), who play tomorrow.

Two of those clubs were heavily involved in 'setting up' thd 16 team division 1, two years ago.

The current format is subject to review in the autumn...that will be interesting!

GNM look to be favourites for relegation in IFC.

Do you understand how majorities work?

Not much chat of the Cargin result, saying all predictors were giving a Dunloy win. Bet if it was the other way it would be the chat of the board Cargin finished etc........They havn't gone away yeno.

On another note and nothing to do with the Cargin game just from being at different games this weekend, but the advantage rule isn't an advantage rule, its a second chance.
Soccer do the advantage rule correct if there's a foul ref plays advantage if you get a shot away that was your advantage. Football you get a free shot at goal and if you miss you get the free, the length of time the advantage is allowed to run for too is insane.

And the fact that different referee's have different views on  it means one game it runs for ages and the next game it doesn't.

Rough conditions for both teams to play in by the look of it, not sure either would have taken much from it.

Quote from: Round or stuffed on August 31, 2025, 12:16:16 PMComhgalls manager screamed and roared for 3 back breaches every time gnm had an attack, linesman called it with gort on the opposition 20 and 2 points in the game, admitted he hadn't seen it and apologised if he'd made a mistake, completely swung the momentum of the game which was all gort at that stage

I doubt very much he'd apologised if he got it wrong, that linesman is very experienced and made the right call IMO! I was at the game, gorts had their chances, to come on here and try to put blame on the linesman is ridiculous! Comgalls were the best on the day I thought too

Yep, I have been preaching this for a long time. Gaelic football has the advantage rule all wrong.

Some of them watching the Rugby refs too long on this one.

We seem to be caught between the really short soccer rule and the way too long rugby one.

Does my head in, how often do you see an advantage given the player slips the ball to someone else then a defender makes a great block or tackle sand its brought back for a free. Hate it.

Soccer does have it right, if you play a pass or have an effort on goal that's the advantage.

Yes Brigids by 8-10 points. Their Lavey contingent are motoring well, they have the best panel in the county now by a stretch.

That would not be a shock. PG1 are favs but I'm not sure if they are progressing from where they were.
