Planning now to head away Halloween week during mid-term. Having not travelled for winter-sun before, any recommendations for a family with a mix of young and teenage kids? Preferably with a bit of heat and that hasn't closed down for the winter.
Haven't been myself but know somebody who goes to Puerto Mogan in the Canaries for some winter sun every year and highly recommends it.
They stay at the Cordial Mogan Playa hotel. It looks lovely and the town is nearby with lots of restaurants. Think we are going to give it a try ourselves. We were in Dubai last year also - it was lovely. Loads of things to do

Got a villa in the Algarve a couple of years ago at that time of year. Had private pool along with pool table and table tennis.
Great weather (27c) and all for dirt cheap.

Anybody been to Egypt? What currency did you use and did you get the recommended vaccines?

What's with Egypt this year? I know 4 families away this summer in the crazy heat. I take it it is significantly less expensive at this time of year?

We were there for 9 nights at the start of June. Great place.

Definitely not cheaper than Spain etc. Somewhere different just.

We did Egypt one year, about 26 years ago, couple of nights then back to Cyprus

Great to see the place but it's a tough spot I found..

Proper 3rd world country outside of the resorts
None of us are getting out of here alive, so please stop treating yourself like an after thought.

Mental taking kids to Egypt but people want to follow trends or to brag.

I certainly wouldn't go to Egypt at this time of year, its 43C FFS.

Also done Algarve in early October 2023. It pissed for most of the week. Its very hit and miss at that time of the year. Tenerife a great spot IMO. Never tried Lanzarote but have heard great things too.

Lanzarote hard to beat too, I have been in December and weather was really good so October would be fine.
