Quote from: bringbackdregish on June 25, 2025, 08:49:23 AMBad video of that minor match last night

That Clonoe man shouldn't be allowed through the gates of any GAA match every again, police matter if you ask me

But sure what do you expect from Clonoe, start getting beat and the fighting begins, a tale as old as time

What happened? Havent seen the video.

Bad fight after the game, which led to parents/coaches fighting on the field after. Horrible stuff

This is the stuff Jarlath Burns should be clamping down on.

Make disclipline his legacy.

This sort of stuff is a blight on the GAA, especially at underage.

I thought it was a player. Couldn't believe it - A grown man who must be a coach.

What message will Tyrone County Board send? It's all well and good running one punch can kill nights at Garvaghy put they need to be pro active and make examples of this.

Close Clonoe pitch for a year and ban the thug for life. A cowardly unprovoked attack!

Is any of this any different from when the going got tough a couple of years back in Moy when Clonoe resorted to skulduggery and assault to try and deter Moy from beating them..

a couple of men needing hospital appointments from blindsided attacks later and nothing was done.

Things can get heated at any level but Clonoe have previous and its why they are where they are.. do your talking with a size 5 and some class...

Minor development game
Cookstown win by 3.
Clonoe coach struck Cookstown coach with a sly vicious slap at Full Time. Chaos ensued therafter.

I'm taking in general.

This, from whatever club/county needs to be clamped down on.

Jarlath should make this his legacy.

No mention of what happened in the build up to the incident. The Cookstown coach that got hit, entered the pitch first and man handled a Clonoe player. When a coach or supporter enters the field of play and interferes it usually leads to things like this.

The Cookstown coach clearly on film takes his own lad (6) away from it and is pushed by Clonoe 5, who knows rightly that the coach shouldn't and cant lay a hand on him. and guess what he doesn't.. whatever the Clonoe "coach" thinks he sees he doesn't.

disgraceful act and shouldn't be allowed near any kind of team let alone a youth team.

im talking about what happened before the video started, Cookstown coach entered the field first and pulled a clonoe player back by the collar of his jersey aggressively.

This post does not read well. Are you saying that the person who was attacked is at fault for getting assaulted?

A ban for the individual will come and I hope it's heavy. But that the county board need to do is throw the book at the club so they change their internal culture and it sends out a message to all clubs.

will that happen? more likely to be swept under the carpet, a referee was stabbed at a youth game couple of years and cannot remember the book being thrown at the fintona club, likewise ardboe last year when the young lad gildernew was brutally assaulted.

No clear video evidence of those in incidents

Freeze Prince's assets and bulldoze the new pitch.

Still wouldn't stop them

This board is full of WOKE SNOWFLAKES.

Back in my day he would have been shamed for how bad his punches were.

Now people are calling for bans, catch yourselves on.

I don't think the stabbing at the game a couple of years ago has anything to do with "internal club culture" in Fintona and this probably doesn't either.

You can put up all the signs around your field, provide all the coach/player/parent education you can, hand out hefty bans, involve the cops, scream it from the rooftops 24/7 and close pitches endlessly but as sure as night follows day we are going to have these isolated incidents of people losing their shit at football matches.

It's not one club. It's not one county. There is potential for this to happen everywhere.

By all means, the incidents need punished but I don't believe for a second that any punishment will be enough to deter the next fella who sees red.
