11 in D1,
11 in D2,
6 in 3A & 6 in 3B.

D1 plays senior championship
D2 plays intermediate championship
D3A & B play junior championship

League and championship winners promoted.
Bottom team relegated
2nd bottom plays 2nd place from lower league in promotion / relegation playoff.

It's very simple is it not? It will take a couple of years to find everyone's level but you have to stick to something instead of changing it up every year.

No more of this nonsense of clubs line Dunloy finishing mid table and getting promoted ffs. It's really a shambles how the thing is run in Antrim.
That could still happen in your system.

I mean in terms of just randomly getting promoted. I worded it wrongly.

Again, going back to how the promotion playoffs were with the only difference being that champo winners go up in league as well.

While we're at it, get rid of the splits in the league after round of matches. Proper H&A fixtures, that don't allow teams to get to the top half and say we don't need to do anything else.

agree with this also , seeding included form league positioning and a straight knockout championship following from this would increase league importance and make more teams aim for higher positions instead of as you said finish top half and take the foot off the gas

I still think you have yo completely separate league and championship.

Some teams will be without key men for the league so to relegated them in championship due to their league team isn't right and will always cause these arguments.

I know it effects more teams than others but surely if you are play home and away fixtures instead of a split you will get a crack at teams with your county men most likely ? I think separating it makes it hold very little value whereas if it had an influence on your championship position teams may view it very differently

So it goes back to the original problem, how can we get the leagues to be important, meaningful, competitive?

There's arguments about A rising tide lifts all boats so having lesser teams test themselves against 'big' teams will eventually develop them more, create better players and in turn the county will have a bigger pick, the other side of that is it could lessen the standard, big teams will drop and have lesser competition.

A money prize for the club can also be an incentive, team trip type thing. Built into by the sponsors

To be fair to some teams they have a winner's mentality and they'll play to the top of their standard, I think Aldergrove seen that on Wednesday and it'll be a learning curve for them, Cargin played it with a high intensity for the team they had out, so Aldergrove will have to look at how they can improve.

We have looked at this hundreds of times over the years and haven't found a best fit solution, we've fine the 8 teams 10 teams and what we have now.

Look to the tyrone model for fixtures of league

12teams absolute max

Rather 10 at senior and 12 Inter

Tyrone is a single code league, easier to work with, less demands also, but certainly Tyrone approach their leagues better

Maybe, but they played their league final at Christmas last year.

They generally play later in the year due to their later involvement in county championships

FactCheck

Not always do they play so late in the year.

Depends on who's top of the tree, whos won championships and finally how far they go

Trillick for example won both and done well in ulster therefore it was delayed because they wanted it to be....

Errigal didn't care about the league so played a dummy team in the semi meaning the league fix's weren't held up a great lot

Tyrone have changed there's again to take into consideration what you have mentioned ....go look to it! helps address some issues

star games (no county players permitted only worth 2 points)
It require some innovation exactly what antrim need as a dual county (MR2 correct)

Round or stuffed

Tyrone have 16 teams in Division 1 and 2 leagues and, until this year, had 17 in division 3
