Pay decent money and get decent results.

Lisburn look to have some interesting results in division 2 - beating st endas and glenavy. Someone's prediction of rasharkin beating moneyglass was a bi wide of the mark...

A few results in division 3 I wouldn't have expected too.

Curiosity got the better of me and I took a race over to it. Shouldn't have bothered, both teams short of a few men not that it would've made any difference. Cargin were incredibly powerful and have nailed the swarm tackle. Pat kicked some outrageous scores, would like to see him back in the Antrim fold. Great intensity all over the park from a team that haven't had many pitch sessions yet this year. Aldergrove won't be too concerned, I doubt they had Cargin away targeted at the start of the year. Darren reffed well, didn't have much to do but kept communicating new rules all throughout.

I thought rasharkin new manager would of been up for it but I was very wrong 😅,

They put a serious beating on them. Div 2 looking interesting

Div 2 heating up agreed , Lisburn some result beating Glenavy comfortably alongside sarsfields with another win.

We struggled against St Endas with their county lads back but we put up a good fight.

Lamh Dhearg must have really turned the screw alongside PG1

That was a very good win for Wolfe Tones over Eire Og in division 3. Laochra loch lao a good win too.

Cargin would demolish more than half of division 1 easily. They will probably have several results similar to that this year. The number of teams in division 1 likely doesn't help but they would do that to a few teams in a smaller division 1 anyway.

Glenravel, Creggan and Portglenone would be pleased with their nights work you expect.  Whitehill, Johnnies and especially Ahoghill and St Pauls seem to be struggling at this early stage.

Cant see past St Pauls going down, maybe benefit them get a few of the younger players through and have another crack at division 1. Moneyglass the pace setters in a very poor division 2.

Cargin the team to beat still, The ulster select wont like getting beat at Full tilt against Creggan. St Galls also motoring well heard they played some stuff last night.

Spike

They would be better served putting some reserve teams into Div 2 to make it competitive.   Must be the weakest Division 2 has been in 30 years.  that cant be good for Antrim football

belfastsaff

i agree. Cargin st galls etc reserve teams would be top of that divison 2. I see its been done in the hurling leagues and seems to benefit everyone.

Maybe if teams that didn't earn promotion or got relgated were still where they should be, it might  be better- but we've been over this before and it's not changing anytime soon so it is what it is!

Funny how we're slowly going back to how the leagues used to be with these suggestions.

There was a time where St Galls reserves weren't allowed to play in div 1 because it was a conflict of interest, but they'd won div 2 handy.

Realistically it's what's need to pad the divisions out.

34 clubs across 3 at present. If you can get that to 40, then you'll have 4 decent competitive leagues.

But most likely see reserve teams propping up div 3/4

34 clubs.
11 in D1,
11 in D2,
6 in 3A & 6 in 3B.

D1 plays senior championship
D2 plays intermediate championship
D3A & B play junior championship

League and championship winners promoted.
Bottom team relegated
2nd bottom plays 2nd place from lower league in promotion / relegation playoff.

It's very simple is it not? It will take a couple of years to find everyone's level but you have to stick to something instead of changing it up every year.

No more of this nonsense of clubs line Dunloy finishing mid table and getting promoted ffs. It's really a shambles how the thing is run in Antrim.

That could still happen in your system.
