Quote from: gallsman on March 23, 2025, 04:37:20 PMHe implicitly linked immigration to (unproven) rising crime and unsafe streets. It's ok though, he said very little and he did say "it's not the only reason".

Isn't that how it works?

as I posted earlier, I haven't seen the abuse he received and would be interested to see it, if anyone could share some of it.

all i see is support and i think it is scary how many people seem to think he said nothing wrong.

Quote from: trueblue1234 on March 22, 2025, 12:56:16 PMThe reality is that with social media, you'll always have someone who'll argue with you. Doesn't matter if you say the sun is yellow. Someone will argue the opposite. And that's across the board left, right centre. If you're going to be on SM you have to accept that and either ignore or engage and fight your corner. If you can't do that, not sure SM is best place for ya. You'll always end up wound up.
I actually enjoyed his posts. Didn't see the posts that were the cause of this, but I'd say he'll suffer a fair drop in income if he stays off.

What's the  opposite of yellow?

Blue apparently. https://consensus.app/home/blog/what-color-is-the-opposite-of-yellow-and-why/#:~:text=For%20yellow%2C%20this%20opposite%20color%20is%20blue.

That's what I thought , going by the rainbow colours.

Green being middle ,  with yellow and blue either side
All irrelevant because the sun is actually white.

To be crystal clear, any and whatever abuse he received, doxxing etc is completely and utterly unacceptable.

The statement that you can't have a view on immigration without being called racist or cancelled by "the left" is clearly nonsense. Claiming that that's what this lad did is either stupid, or deliberately misleading. So you can be stupid, a ****, or both. Take your pick.

I didn't shut down any conversation, or ask for any conversation to be shut down and I'm not aware of anyone that did in this instance,  only Garron, who removed his own social media.

see the post from Snapchat post 1313 or my post 1295 on this thread which explain my views quite well.

Have listened to that speech he made six or seven times.. initially I thought nothing to see here.. but is so subtle I'm not sure that he wasn't at it...
Also noticed linking migrants to rising crime albeit very very dog whistle...
Saw shots of abuse he got. Social media is full of poisin. Some supporting him are as bad... McGregor disciples.

You said he was it was scary how people were agreeing with him so what exactly did he say wrong.

Very little of what he said was statistically factual if you bothered checking. He also tried to suggest migration was linked to standard of living which is a load of horsesh!t, and then claimed that the government doesn't allow people to talk about immigration, even though he was literally doing so on social media to his thousands of followers.

And yet we still have the great and the good coming out in droves to defend him, insisting "he didn't say anything that wasn't true". Its actually very unsettling how right wing/racist lies are becoming so widely defended as perfectly true and normal and acceptable as soon as a mainstream figure like Noone starts peddling them.

What was statically incorrect? Ireland has hit a 17 year high on net immigration. If you dont think that has any downsides at all then crack on

How are you affected?

People don't really care about stats when it comes to immigration, they care about what the see and the crowds of foreign men being moved in next to schools, loitering about not working, driving around in cars not fit for purpose and dealing drugs. (Before any w**ker says it, yes we have plenty of Irish scum as well doing all of the above, so we dont need more)

Immigration has been happening for over a millennia, it's needed in growing countries

The problem is having the infrastructure and Ireland needs to put that in place.

But I've yet to hear anyone I know been affected by immigration

If the West stopped f**king over the countries these immigrants are coming from then we'd be having less arriving.
