So does the county have its best players playing? If not why not?

None of us are getting out of here alive, so please stop treating yourself like an after thought.

There are multiple layers to that question. A county footballer doesn't have to be an outstanding club footballer with how the game is these days so the best county team doesn't mean the best 15 club players.. Are there boys that McEntee wants that aren't available? I don't know but I would suspect so. Are there boys that people here think should be on that could have a bit of nepotism clouding the judgement - maybe  ;D

Didn't think it was a difficult question to be fair, plenty talk about it this last few years and by now I'd suspect that people feel there is possibly a better team but not available for one reason or another, and if so why not.

But hey, that's me just talking out my backarse lol

Take the Mark, you are way to serious, lighten up

Sorry I'll get the numbers of every player in the county - could you forward them on?

Talking through yer backsides with the stuff you come out with  ;D

So, do we reckon we'll see any actual fixtures uploaded to the county site at any point?

10 days to the apparent start of the div 1 league.

When the rest starts who knows

Round or stuffed

do we even know who is playing in what division, I've never seen anything like this

Talk Dunloy is in Division 1?  if so, how is this possible, they didn't get promoted?  Antrim is really the worst I have ever seen, they literally make it up as they go.  Why don't they just play if your in D1 you play senior championship, D2 play intermediate championship, D3 play junior championship.  League and championship winners get promoted, its very simple.

Dunloy have been playing senior championship since winning intermediate in 2022. Theyve reached a qf and a final in that time which is better than most div 1 clubs.

The problem is Dunloy in the league and Dunloy in the championship are a totally different animal.

And surely that should be a Dunloy problem and not everyone else's?

Well it becomes everyone at Intermediate's problem if you drop them down there. They're a better team than most at senior. The simple solution is to completely separate league and championship.

Round or stuffed

so are we saying the leagues are being held up over this? or will division 1 go ahead next week?

Milltown Row2

With the leagues changing all the time and players away with the county the league has come across as a glorified set of challenge games leading up to championship, as long as a team is not in a battle to stay up they will treat it indifferently..

Plenty of reasons around that but that's been the case for many many years.

The question is how do you make the league worth winning or even top 4, what are the incentives?

Why do the Tyrone lads go hell for leather in the league? Does that county just have a different mind set to their competitions?

Either way something has to be worked out between the clubs, all of the clubs, in all divisions, as it effects them too.

I do remember a simpler time when watching our seniors as a kid, we travelled all over to see them, we didn't win too many leagues from what I recall but it was well attended

An even more simple solution is keep Dunloy in the intermediate until they decide to put more effort into the league. The special treatment given here is scandalous. Our reserves were told they couldnt enter Div 2 as the league structures were set in stone until 2026, then they discover Dunloy have been parachuted into Div 1. Only in Antrim
