Do you think he said, when Murphy comes on, few shoulders to draw attention to it then a headbutt.

Players can be silly bastards on their own sometimes.

Of course they can, no doubt about it.

We conceded over 30 to Offaly, but none of that can be apportioned to the manager apparently. And the all ireland champions are on the horizon, hopefully Armagh just turn up and look disinterested like they did a couple of years ago and only put 20 on us.

And Dunloy deserve to go up? Based on what? They finished 7th & 9th in the last 2 league seasons. Please make it make sense!

Agree with you here Gaels1789 , Naomh Eanna would be better taking their medicine a side clearly not cut out for div 1 , however you know what the county board is like !! Would not shock me if they worm their way back in.

Based on the fact is is well known they have one of the best teams in the county come championship time. Regardless of the fact where Dunloy enter division 1 , Naomh Eanna are nowhere near the quality and it is puzzling as to why they would question the decision

We lost two players... We beat Clare, silence on here  ;) ,  narrow loss away to Fermanagh and hammered against Offaly who were BTW odds on favourites for the game in the first place and its

Just come out and say it.. Bring back Enda  ;D
None of us are getting out of here alive, so please stop treating yourself like an after thought.

The manoeuvrings around the leagues and last years championship draws are hard to fathom.  All about who you know.

Dunloy should be in division 2 at best and that's only assuming they would have got out of div 3 which they should have been in last year.

No idea how daft you have to be not to realise that the championship and league should be separated completely and the leagues should be split into 3 equal amounts with two up and two down. This crap of picking divisions is a nonsense.

St endas have every right to question Why they are getting relegated in place of a mid tier D2 team. Other clubs should  be asking the same question. Leagues and championships aren't played on paper, players lose form, go travelling, injuries etc etc- so basing it on a championship run from 2 years ago is ridiculous. Maybe it's to keep wee davys payroll ticking over, so we can't risk upsetting Dunloy? Just a thought.

The only reason you were still in Divison 1 last year was to keep the outgoing chair happy. Just a thought.

Believe me, I'm not a St endas man and was equally scathing last year when Cavana and the crew first concocted this clusterfxxk.

The fact is this whole thing has become a dick measuring exercise and it's not for the betterment of Antrim football. Lot of egos would sooner run their own clubs into the ground by playing at a level they're not good enough for than drop to div 2 and rebuild there.

Quote from: Take the Mark on February 18, 2025, 11:44:06 AMVery harsh comments on some of the clubs there - Glenravel especially harshly spoken about considering they don't even have a starter on the team.

A lot of talk about who McEntee can or cannot get out to join the panel, how do people know who he invited to join the panel? Its clear to me hes after a specific type of player - 6 feet plus and can run all day. Of course there are one or two who don't fit that criteria but thats the general rule it looks, regardless of ability.

Its the managers job to improve the team - he isn't doing that.

As for any nonsense talked about players not wanting to play with eachother etc, complete balls. Try our neighbours in Armagh and Derry for that and you'll soon find it happens all over. But 'cliques' apparently... You'd know a thing or 2 about cliques MR.

Sorry to hit a nerve but that's the way it is, who's at fault well who knows and certain posters from certain clubs continually blaming the manager? Christ, its embarrassing

We as an Antrim team don't play traditionally as a team, Baker was probably the best to have gotten us to play as unit, even then there was maybe one or two lads that probably were not invested

So I'll ask you would you blame your club manager for players being sent off?

This is true......and yet people were calling for Baker's head on this forum plenty back then. We beat Meath at Casement in Div 2 in 2010, halcyon days, yet people wanted more

Even then there were plenty didn't commit, plenty 'stars' who didn't play on the 09 Ulster Final Team, then came back and perhaps upset the trajectory.

It's never been smooth but we've never had the sheer numbers a Tyrone etc has. If you're from Tyrone or Kerry etc your County football team is literally your identity, man woman and child.

In my class alone there were boys played international soccer and ran for Ireland. If they were in Tyrone or Kerry they'd have been playing GAA and undoubtedly County standard, but channelled their abilities elsewhere. The pull of other sports plus hurling, plus lack of Care by the community in Antrim at large leaves us with a ceiling of Div 3 with MAYBE the odd promotion to 2 (unless all changes)

Few cousins from Wife's family on Tyrone panel and doing EVERYTHING to stay on it, to get bigger, stronger, faster. Aunties and Uncles driving the length of Ireland in case they get 30 seconds on the pitch. Whole extended family BUZZING bout it. It's just a world away

Bang on. Should not have been allowed to happen but was. The brains trust behind the re-jigging of division 1 certainly gained from it, both from intermediate clubs.

Not good enough? Change the system instead of putting the work in, what could possibly go wrong!
