Quote from: scout on October 08, 2024, 08:11:12 PMCan any of our mayo posters fact-check any of his opening 30mins on the breaffy-knockmore semi final game at the weekend?

Sounds like he was making it up as he went along, threw in with another pop at aiden o'se of course.

Actually love his podcasts & his views on the serious matters. But his gaa stories/anecdotes leave a lot to be desired

Saw an episode titled Parenting with Joe Brolly so thought this could be a bit different. Had to stop listening, was like 2 pub bores arguing over virtues of GAA vs soccer. Bit funny considering some previous episodes started with himself and Dion talking up English soccer as were advertising some TV package.

We are alright here in Mayo. Brolly blood has genetically infiltrated the Mayo DNA. There will be winners from down Knockmore way from now on.

All joking aside, it's good to see our Amateur game analysed by amateur journalism. It at least keeps things consistent.

SouthOfThe Bann

Joe Brolly in his latest podcast criticizes Aiden O'Shea for taking the free to win the game v Knockmore and not letting the keeper take it; he subsequently missed.

Imagine what spin Brolly would have put on it if he handed the free to the keeper and he missed.

He'd be twice as critical of O'Shea for not having the balls to take it; but Brolly always twists the narratives to suit his own agendas.

Truthsayer

I can't agree with his assertion that the winners was all down to a home manager buy-in by players. While I agree the payment and movement of club managers is a plague, some have been hugely successful: O'Rourke.. Moran.. £££.
Probly should have left the football out as it went on to be a very powerful podcast about the horrors being inflicted by Israel sponsored by US and the control of the media...

Quelle surprise there. Obviously won't be listening to it, but did he shoehorn in that he has won things himself while O'Shea hasn't...? There's a new sheriff in Mayo folks in case youse weren't already aware

Think he referenced the 3 or 4 county titles he won alright; and that the one he lost still wrankles with hi  to this day and that he thinks about it once a month.

Referenced Aiden O'Shea playing in both 5 All ireland finals and 5 Club finals and losing them all

Absolutely pathetic behaviour from a grown man.
He has some sort of personal vendetta against O'Shea going back to when Brolly's wife was involved in the backroom team.
Brolly has been keeping up this vendetta for almost a decade in print media and now podcasts.
What a sad individual.

Brilliant podcast from 'freestate' on Chris Mullin English MP who campaigned for the Birmingham 6

Just listened to another 2 episodes on 'Freestate' with the English journalist Peter Taylor on his time here and his many years of interest on the Troubles. Another two very informative an enjoyable episodes. Top listening. Brolly well informed too.

Those "Tyrone bastards" playing U2s beautiful day as soon as they beat Derry last night
Surely a dig at Brolly and his hatred of Bono

Probably hasn't a clue bout Bono's politics and thought the song lyrics were appropriate. Any day you beat Derry...

As much as Brolly  would like to think it is,  it's  not always about Brolly.
