I think Armagh have about 4 or 5k season ticket holders who have guaranteed tickets for the game?

bannside

I doubt it's 5k Jim, probably half of that, and no matter how many they have, it shouldn't be Antrims problem.

As a supporter I'm not happy, and if you've managed teams you'll know you shouldn't be conceding anything come championship, never mind the feel good factor of playing at home venue.

I imagine that feeling of loss will be magnified many times if you were a player or management trying to be prepared to even be remotely competitive against the All Ireland Champions.

Has anyone even considered this?

Bannside, the truth is you need to get real, no-one doubts your passion however Antrim presently carry no credibility/influence in the corridors of power, be that Ulster or Croker and the Casement debacle hasn't helped our cause.

SaffronSports

Would the Ulster Council not have to accept a degree of responsibility over Casement? They were handed the keys and it hasn't happened.

I'd genuinely pull out of the competition at this point. If we can't play home games then why was that not stipulated before the draw was made?

"Get real" can often mean too hard or not willing to accept the alternative.

Principles are important though, Antrim should have said home game or nothing (unless Antrim need some money for Davy on the hurling). If the alternative is no game then that's the way it should be.

As Saffron says UC have made a number of missteps on Casement and are now asking Antrim to carry the pain of that.

If Armagh had been scheduled at home to Tyrone would Armagh have been happy to move to Clones so more could get to go?

Do you think Davy Fitz would accept this if Antrim Hurlers were drawn at home in a qualifier to a big name county? Dwell on that for a minute. I sincerely doubt it.

Hands up I don't have access to all the info? Did the Antrim officials who gave consent put it to club delegates at County Committee? That's an important question or has a couple of people gone on a solo run?

Was Antrim Football team management even consulted. If it was hurling do you think Davy Fitz would have been consulted?

Did they secure anything in return, a donation from the enhanced Gate Receipts, or something we don't know, that might make the concession more palatable??

Shooting in the dark on this, but first impressions are we have rolled over far too easily on this and if it dosent sit easily with a supporter then how might players and management feel!

I read that Antrim have managed to squeeze the Ulster Council to allow them to pick any alternative venue.  That's a real coup for them ::)

Belfast GAA man

Is team for Sunday out yet ?

imtommygunn

I can't see either team out. Not even sure who is in either squad.

country bumpkin

Team is published, but surprised not a man from Cargin named..

Is this a case of invitations refused or none extended..?

Belfast GAA man

Why would they not been invited ? Nonsense

erinsboy

Eunan Quinn is on the subs CB
But it's hard to understand how the team that has dominated Antrim football the last decade has so few representatives on the County team.

Sometimes that's how it works, in Antrim club is king.
None of us are getting out of here alive, so please stop treating yourself like an after thought.

Any involvement of players with UU/Sigerson?

Is this the start of the annual 'Cargin - everyone's against us' waffle?
