Great second half. I think we can all agree the draw is a fair result.Just as well it was Harry McGuire that was in that position right at the end.

Man United will celebrate it like a victory Liverpool will take the point and move on.

Just as well Arsenal and Chelsea dropped points yesterday.

Liverpool still in a good spot with a healthy enough lead but no way is this league anywhere close to being over.

Quote from: Tony Baloney on January 05, 2025, 06:29:01 PMFair result. Good fight from United. Slot should have given Trent the hook long before that second United goal.

Yeah he usually takes Trent off when closing out a game. The Madrid saga has clearly got into both Trent and Slots heads.

Fair result indeed, although it really could have gone either way amidst the chaos. Very poor overall performance from Liverpool, who didn't get going at all except for the 15 minutes after the first United goal. Defense was all over the place, with Trent nowhere to be found time and again. Konate didn't look match fit and would have been hooked if Gomez was fit. United were winning all the loose ball for most of the game, and Fernandes looked the best player on the pitch.

Hopefully a kick up the arse and a springboard for a big push now.

Quote from: Tony Baloney on January 05, 2025, 05:53:18 PMTrent has been pathetic. The way Liverpool are defending is a tonic for United. More goals in this.

I think it's time to let him go as he's not interested, his name is on the goals conceded.

United derailed Liverpools season last year with the draw in the FA Cup, can see the same happening now

Yeah, they may hand the title to Arsenal now.

United won that cup game BTW.

Trent's head is obviously in Madrid, though many more performances like that and Madrid will be looking elsewhere.

Worryingly Liverpool looked a bit more vulnerable than usual today, could be the occasion etc but can't afford too many performances like that.

Forest and Brentford both away the next two League games. Not exactly easy places to go.

Though Arsenal have Spurs and Villa so nothing easy for them either.

Poor result for League champions to be at home to what was labelled by Gary Neville just last week as "the worst pound-for-pound football team in the Premier League"

Classic Roy Keane after the game." Trent Alexander Arnold will be going to Tranmere Rovers after that performance today"

I actually thought United can feel hard done by not to get all three points Liverpool got 15 mins after first goal very poor outside of that. TAA rightly getting bad press, but  Robertson was very poor also as was Konate.  Left back would definitely be a position to be looking at in the summer. Gakpo took his goal extremely well great finish.

The fact that they turned up like that today would frustrate me even more as a United fan. They are clearly better than being 7 points ahead of Ipswich Town. Southampton at home next give them an opportunity to build on today's big result.

I'm not surprised someone like you hangs on every word Gary Neville says  ;D
He also in August said Man United would finish ahead of Liverpool this season.

Enjoy the draw and move on, your next game whomever that is against is where Man United need to turn up.

Konate obviously wasn't ready to come back and wouldn't have played if Gomez had been fit
Let no-one say the best hurlers belong to the past. They are with us now, and better yet to come

Or maybe TAA is just a very weak defender, as usually proved when required to do the basics of defending...
