That's so disheartening to see.  We have an ASD centre in the school, and a GMLD centre.  Depending on the needs of different individuals,  there would be regular interactions with mainstream classes.  In 20+ years, only once was there a mainstream student that tried annoying or upsetting some of them, and I heard after he went through the school disciplinary process, a few seniors meted out some more justice.  You'd imagine in this day and age there would be a little more understanding in the country.
