Quote from: bogball88 on December 18, 2024, 05:24:36 AMMan charged with murder of Karen Cummings in Banbridge at the weekend was released on bail a month ago having been charged with assault occasioning actual bodily harm, non-fatal strangulation and two counts of criminal damage.

" A Co Armagh man who has been described as a "serial perpetrator of domestic abuse" has been released on bail after allegedly attempting to gouge out his partner's eye and choking her.

Police were objecting to bail believing King was likely to commit further offences, he has a history of similar offences, has allegedly issued a threat to kill the injured party and is a "serial perpetrator of domestic abuse".

The PSNI also expressed concerns at how close King and the alleged injured party would be in proximity to each other, that he is currently on probation, he is a respondent to seven non-molestation orders, he would interfere with witnesses and he would likely fail to appear when required.

King, who must submit a cash surety of £300, was granted bail on the basis an address is found that is suitable to police, he must have no contact with the alleged injured party, he must tell police if the woman contacts him, he must not consume alcohol in a public place, he must submit to a preliminary breath test when required, and he must observe a curfew between 10pm to 7am."

That's horrendous, the justice system will get some flack for this

He's the son of the King that took over the LVF after Billy Wright. Untouchable

A real tragedy.

I see some people calling for the head of Naomi Long over this. How much influence would a politician have over the judiciary?

The other boy charged is the son of former IRA man Kevin McGuigan from the Short Strand who was shot dead 10 years ago.

Strange, strange bedfellows.

I imagine we can all come to the logical and almost certainly correct conclusion.

Scum bag drug dealers be scum bag drug dealers. That's why the notion of transformative process and calling people members of paramilitary organisations needs to be hit on the head. Essentially they are legitimising organised crime which has nothing to do with any 'cause',  on either side.

Absolutely.

Tragic case and the justice system really has a lot to answer for. Hopefully the key is thrown away on these 2.

A story absolutely befitting of the thread title.

That is absolutely desperate. Poor girl.

The rate of domestic abuse is getting higher or the acts are getting more murderous it seems

Daughter had friends over from Australia recently and they do country checks on the internet and they brought up that here in the North has a high level of danger for women.. Now for random tourists they won't come into the equation as it mostly domestic abuse on women from a partner or an ex partner.

What's brought about the increase? The sentencing needs increased but that only works after the fact, it really needs to looked at from a younger age and educating our kids better, seems morality is lost (maybe over the top)

Glenn King - serial woman beater, drug dealer, violent thug and offspring of LVF scum. You really have to question the laws around domestic violence when perennial offenders like this degenerate are given little more than a slap on the wrist. The f**ker was hiding with his ankle tag on while the police had their cordon up. What is the point of curfews on violent criminals if they aren't strictly imposed?

Sure look at Jonathan Cresswell too. How was that sc**bag ever allowed bail for a murder charge?

100 million from Elon will help. Is he not just going to split the Tory vote though?

He's looking to lead the Tories by then.

Reform don't have the infrastructure to stand in 600 plus constituencies and even for the some that they did stand in the last election there are doubts whether some actually existed as they never canvassed and never turned up at the counts.

If Trump can get in (twice) then this buck eejit can certainly get in, never underestimate the British public. Back to the ice age

The US Presidential election is a very different format than the UK version.

as it stands Farage would need Reform to get 326 MP elected for him to become PM.

They've 5 currently.

Loyalist do love Reform though.

He will need to move constituency. He wouldn't get back in in Clacton as he's never been near the place and would need wherever he moves to to not realise what he's like. (It has worked in the past for Galloway though so maybe it could for him).

It has been rumoured for very long periods that ultimately he is trying to get himself to be the leader of the tory party.
